Google has just released a new update for its Gemini app, offering a clearer and more intuitive location search experience thanks to data pulled directly from the Google Maps extension.
This is considered a significant step forward, allowing Gemini to not only respond in writing as before, but also present information in a more visually engaging way.

Previously, when users asked Gemini to find a location, the results were often just descriptions with a simple map at the end. This made the experience less intuitive and difficult to grasp important information. However, the new update has completely resolved this limitation.
Gemini can now provide “rich local search results,” displaying a map with emoji markers to better distinguish each location. Each location is accompanied by information cards including images, star ratings, and other factual data, allowing users to quickly assess its suitability.
Users can click on each tab to view additional features such as:
People often talk about – a compilation of key opinions.
Review summary – provides an overview of customer feedback.
Advice from critics – providing insightful observations.
These summaries are generated from review data on Google Maps, synchronized with a feature that the full Maps app recently introduced for all locations.
Google says a new visual enhancement for Google Maps in Gemini is rolling out to both desktop and mobile versions, initially supporting English. This is one of the next steps in its strategy to make Gemini a more contextual, intuitive, and useful AI assistant in everyday life.
