Nestled at the foot of majestic limestone mountains in Truong Ha commune, about 50km from the center of Cao Bang , Pac Bo is blessed by nature with a magnificent landscape featuring the emerald green Lenin Stream and the towering Karl Marx Mountain.

Recognized as a Special National Monument since 2012, Pac Bo is not only a sacred destination on the journey back to the roots, but also a beacon illuminating the spirit of patriotism, attracting tens of thousands of tourists every year.

Besides its profound historical and cultural value, the site possesses rich ecotourism potential, with its system of caves, streams, and indigenous cultural identity. These are important foundations that help the site move towards sustainable tourism and contribute to positioning Cao Bang as a "rough gem" in the border region.

In recent years, tourism in Pac Bo has seen a strong breakthrough, becoming one of the most attractive destinations in Cao Bang. In just the first half of 2025, the historical site welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors, demonstrating the increasing appeal of this "revolutionary source" destination...

Along with this growth, tourism infrastructure in Pac Bo has also been invested in comprehensively, such as the expansion of the road leading to the historical site, parking lots, exhibition halls, and the beautified grounds. In addition, the tour system has been scientifically planned, connecting points such as Coc Bo Cave, Lenin Stream, Karl Marx Mountain, Border Marker 108, and the revolutionary living space of President Ho Chi Minh.

With its scenic advantages, unique historical value, and the province's investment, Pac Bo is increasingly asserting its role as a "nucleus" in Cao Bang's sustainable tourism development strategy.

According to Mr. Dao Van Mui, Director of the Management Board of Special National Monuments of Cao Bang province, the Pac Bo historical site has been applying a sustainable development model based on three main pillars. Firstly, environmental protection and preservation of the natural landscape; secondly, preservation of cultural heritage and transmission of historical values; and thirdly, creating jobs for the community.

Currently, this model is implemented through activities that restore and preserve the original values, minimizing construction that would lead to the concrete development of the historical site. Simultaneously, tourism activities are closely linked to cultural and historical values, avoiding the trend of seasonal or hasty business practices, and aiming for a long-term balance between conservation and development.

At the same time, Cao Bang province also plays an important role in the sustainable development of the Pac Bo historical site. Through various policies to attract and support investment, the province encourages businesses and investors to participate in developing various types of tourism and services in Pac Bo. For businesses and households, the province creates favorable conditions through a transparent mechanism, supporting procedures and a favorable investment environment, helping individuals and organizations easily implement activities such as guesthouses, homestays, tour guide services, transportation, and community experiences.
