Pep Guardiola, head coach of Manchester City, has frankly shared that Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are the toughest opponents in his coaching career, not Jose Mourinho as many people think.
In a video at the UEFA Pro Coaching Course, Guardiola admitted: "My coaching staff and I spent hours trying to find a way to stop them. Sometimes it seemed like we were successful, but the next day Klopp surprised me. He always gave me a headache."

Liverpool under Klopp (2016-2024) is known for its high-intensity pressing, quick transitions and direct attacks with many players. Their championship achievements include: 1 Premier League, 1 FA Cup, 2 League Cups, 1 European Super Cup, 1 Community Shield and 1 FIFA Club World Cup.
Guardiola also stressed that winning 3–4 Premier League titles during his time with Liverpool was his greatest achievement because of the strength and stability Klopp created. He said: "I have never faced anyone more difficult".
These two strategists have met a total of 30 times: Klopp won 12, Guardiola won 11, and drew 7. In addition to the big matches in England, they have faced each other in the Bundesliga when Guardiola led Bayern Munich and Klopp led Dortmund.
Notably, Klopp is the coach who has defeated Guardiola the most in his career. Meanwhile, two other famous coaches, Mourinho and Ancelotti, only have a total of 12 wins against Pep.
