The Dinh Khao ferry has officially suspended operations for repairs and replacement of pontoons and auxiliary buoys.
During this time, all activities will be temporarily suspended to ensure the safety of people and vehicles.
According to Mr. Cong, to be proactive in their travel, people in Vinh Long province and the Mekong Delta region can travel along National Highway 60 to Tra Vinh, crossing the Co Chien bridge to Ben Tre .
In addition, people can also travel along National Highway 1 to Tien Giang , then onto National Highway 60, crossing the Rach Mieu Bridge to Ben Tre and vice versa.
Recently, during holidays and peak hours, the number of people and vehicles has increased dramatically, causing frequent congestion at the Dinh Khao ferry terminal.
In April 2024, the People's Committee of Vinh Long province, in coordination with Ben Tre province, submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Planning and Investment regarding the implementation of the Dinh Khao bridge construction project.
The project starts on National Highway 53 in Long An commune, Long Ho district, and ends at the intersection with the existing National Highway 57, more than 6km downstream from Dinh Khao ferry. The total estimated investment is approximately 3,200 billion VND.
