Dinh Khao ferry officially stopped operating for repairs and replacement of pontoons and auxiliary buoys.
During this time, all activities will be suspended to ensure safety for people and vehicles.
According to Mr. Cong, to be proactive in traveling, people in Vinh Long province and the Western region can travel along National Highway 60 to Tra Vinh via Co Chien Bridge to Ben Tre.
Along with that, people can also travel along Highway 1 to Tien Giang to Highway 60 via Rach Mieu Bridge to Ben Tre and vice versa.
Recently, during holidays and Tet, the daily rush hour has seen a sudden increase in the number of people and vehicles, causing Dinh Khao ferry terminal to be frequently congested.
In April 2024, the People's Committee of Vinh Long province coordinated with Ben Tre province to submit a document to the Ministry of Planning and Investment on the implementation of the investment project to build Dinh Khao bridge.
The project starts at Highway 53 in Long An Commune, Long Ho District, and ends at the intersection with existing Highway 57, more than 6km downstream from Dinh Khao Ferry. The total estimated investment is about VND3,200 billion.
