Tom Cruise's reaction to rude question at the premiere of blockbuster 'Mission: Impossible'

"Father's Day is coming up," noted an E! News reporter at the New York premiere of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning . "What would your ideal Father's Day look like?" asked Tom Cruise, 62.

The Golden Globe winner replied, "You know..." and then fell silent and shook his head while looking into the distance. Finally, Tom added, "It's just fun, man."

The Top Gun star then turned the conversation to his movies without mentioning any of his children. Tom continued: "I'm going to make movies, have big adventures and have a great time."

Social media users criticized the reporter for his "indecent question" in the YouTube comments section.

"Maybe they're looking at the daughter Tom abandoned for a decade?" one person wrote, referring to Suri, Cruise's daughter with ex-wife Katie Holmes.

Another added: "Making a movie? That's definitely not a father's job. He's a lost man."

Tom Cruise is the father of 3 children.

Tom Cruise became a father when he and his then-wife Nicole Kidman adopted daughter Isabella (now 32) and son Connor (30), before they split in 2001.

Tom married Holmes five years after their divorce and welcomed Suri in April 2006.

The couple split in 2012 and Cruise has long been estranged from his 19-year-old daughter.

Suri grew up in New York City with her mother and graduated from LaGuardia High School in June 2024. She officially changed her name at that time, when her name was listed on the ceremony program as Suri Noelle. Noelle is Holmes' middle name.

Suri is currently a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania.

Katie Holmes, 46, has shared a rare insight into how she raised Suri over the years, telling Elle UK in 2019 that they "grew up together".

Last year, the Dawson's Creek actress slammed as "completely false" claims that Suri inherited millions from a trust fund set up by Tom Cruise. "I don't want my child to be a target," the actress explained in an Instagram comment in December 2024.
