France Kylian Mbappe scored a hat-trick in France's 14-0 win over Gibraltar in the Euro 2024 qualifiers on the evening of November 18.

* Goal: Santos own goal 3', M. Thuram 5', Zaire-Emery 16', Mbappé pen 30', 74' & 82', Clauss 35', Coman 36' & 66', Fofana 37', Rabiot 63', Dembélé 73', Giroud 89 & 90'+1.

The 14-0 result is the biggest margin of victory in Euro qualifying history. It breaks the record set by Germany's 13-0 win over San Marino in 2006. It is also the biggest win in France's history.

An own goal from Ethan Santos and a strike from Marcus Thuram put France 2-0 up in the first four minutes. International debutant Warren Zaire-Emery made it 3-0 in the 16th minute. The 17-year-old midfielder was fouled while shooting towards goal. After a VAR check, the referee showed Santos a straight red card.

The loss of a man left Gibraltar in disarray. The team, currently ranked 198th in FIFA, quickly became a "basket of balls" before the destructive power of the 2022 World Cup runners-up. Before the break, Kylian Mbappe, Jonathan Clauss, Kingsley Coman and substitute Youssouf Fofana added four more goals for France. Adrien Rabiot added to the scoreboard at the start of the second half, then Coman scored twice.

After coming on for Coman in the 67th minute, Ousmane Dembele took just six minutes to make it 10-0 with a solo run. A minute later, Mbappe scored his second. In the 82nd minute, the captain chipped the ball from 40 meters over the goalkeeper, completing his hat-trick.

Mbappe moved up to third in the list of players with the most goals for France, with 46 goals, two more than the fourth-placed Antoine Griezmann. The leader of this list, Giroud also managed to score twice in the 89th and 90+1 minutes, including a scissor volley to seal the 14-0 score. The AC Milan striker now has 56 goals for the team, five more than Thierry Henry and 10 more than Mbappe.

After the victory, France continued to lead Group B with 21 absolute points. They scored 27 goals and only conceded one. In this group, the Netherlands won the ticket to the second final round with 15 points. The "Orange whirlwind" is three points ahead of Greece and the head-to-head record, while there is only one round of qualifying.
