According to the President of the French Olympic Committee David Lappartient, the country plans to host the 2030 Winter Olympics in the Alps (Eastern France) with competition venues based on 95% of existing infrastructure, stretching from the city of Nice to the Haute-Savoie region.

The Olympic Village will likely be located in the city of Nice, which will also be home to the media center.

French officials are also planning to build an ice rink in the coastal city to host indoor skating competitions.

France has proposed a budget of $1.6 billion for the 2030 Winter Olympics. The country has hosted the Winter Olympics three times - in Chamonix in 1924, Grenoble in 1968 and Albertville in 1992.

In addition to France, Switzerland and Sweden are also in the running to host the 2023 Winter Olympics. According to the plan, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will announce the host of this event in July 2024.
