This morning, July 8, at Cua Viet beach, Gio Linh district, the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command coordinated with the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee to organize the program "Youth with the homeland sea and islands" and launch the program "Let's clean the sea" in 2024.

At the program, officers and soldiers of the Provincial Military Command and nearly 500 union members and youth of Gio Linh district, along with a large number of local people, participated in cleaning and collecting garbage to clean the beach.

The program "Youth with the sea and islands of the homeland" and the launch of the program "Let's clean the sea" in 2024 aim to contribute to propaganda and raising awareness for officers, soldiers of the armed forces, union members, youth and people about protecting the marine environment, responding to climate change; changing behaviors and habits of using products made from plastic and nylon that are difficult to decompose to reduce environmental pollution. From there, creating a movement to regularly collect waste, join hands to clean the beach, contributing to the sustainable development of marine tourism.

On this occasion, the program's Organizing Committee presented 1,500 national flags (sponsored by the "Proud of the National Flag" Program of the Lao Dong Newspaper) to fishermen; presented 169 gifts (each worth 300,000 VND) to poor students in difficult circumstances in Gio Mai, Gio Viet, Gio Hai communes and Cua Viet town; and presented 20 fans to primary and secondary schools in Gio Linh district.
