On the morning of July 2, the Traffic Police Department coordinated with Dan Tri Newspaper to launch the contest "Learning about the law on road traffic order and safety". The contest is organized to strengthen propaganda, popularize legaleducation , improve knowledge and awareness of compliance with the law on road traffic order and safety for all people, especially the young generation, workers and laborers. Thereby contributing to building a culture of behavior when participating in traffic, equipping people with knowledge and skills to safely operate vehicles.

Speaking at the contest launch ceremony, Major General Nguyen Van Mung, Deputy Director of the Traffic Police Department, said that in recent years, although the situation of road traffic order and safety has changed, it has not been truly fundamental, there are still many complications, traffic accidents are still high and serious. In addition, the situation of blatant violations and disregard for the law when participating in traffic is still common, traffic culture is still weak. Traffic jams occur complicatedly in cities, thereby causing significant economic losses, negatively affecting people's health and lives...
“Learning about road traffic safety laws is not only a playground but also a strong message to the whole society. This contest is organized on a digital platform, creating conditions for people in all regions, especially young people, students, etc. to easily access. This is an innovative form of legal propaganda, flexible, practical and effective in the current digital transformation era” - Major General Nguyen Van Mung emphasized and requested agencies, organizations, schools, families, especially students, etc. to actively participate in the contest, turning legal knowledge into concrete actions, turning the slogan "traffic safety is the happiness of every home" into reality on every road and street corner".

Speaking at the contest launch ceremony, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha assessed that this is a meaningful event, demonstrating the attention of the Government and the whole society to the work of ensuring traffic order and safety, contributing to building a civilized and safe society.
According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha, the Law on Road Traffic Safety was passed by the 15th National Assembly at the 7th Session on June 27, 2024 and will take effect from January 1, 2025. Along with that, the Government and relevant ministries and branches have issued many documents guiding the implementation to bring the law into life soon.

"We all see that traffic accidents are still a burning issue, causing serious consequences for society. Therefore, equipping the community with knowledge and skills to participate in safe traffic is extremely urgent. This contest is an effective communication channel, innovating the method of disseminating the law through the form of online contests on the Traffic Police Department's website (http://www.csgt.vn) and on Dan Tri Newspaper (http://dantri.com.vn)" - Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha emphasized. The Deputy Minister said that spreading widely and reaching a large number of cadres, party members, and people, especially young people who regularly use online platforms, will help people equip themselves with knowledge and skills to safely control vehicles and contribute to building a culture of behavior when participating in traffic, gradually reducing traffic accidents, building a safe and civilized traffic environment; create a useful playground for everyone to learn, improve legal knowledge and join hands to build traffic awareness and culture, contributing to reducing traffic accidents, bringing a peaceful and happy life to every family.
At the launching ceremony, the Organizing Committee and representatives of universities in Hanoi signed a commitment to organize students to participate in the contest and propagate laws on ensuring traffic safety for students.
The contest "Learning about Road Traffic Law" will start accepting entries from July 2 to September 30, and all Vietnamese citizens and foreigners living in Vietnam are encouraged to participate. The contest will be held online on the Traffic Police website and Dan Tri Newspaper.
Participants will answer questions about the content related to the 2024 Road Traffic Safety Law and its implementing guidelines in the form of multiple choice questions, solve traffic situations, and propose solutions to ensure traffic safety. Each month, the Organizing Committee and the Jury will select 10 highest quality entries to award annual prizes. Monthly exam results will be announced on the Traffic Police Department's website.
The contest's prize structure will include 1 First Prize worth 20 million VND; 3 Second Prizes worth 15 million VND/prize; 5 Third Prizes worth 10 million VND/prize; 15 Consolation Prizes worth 5 million VND/prize; and additional prizes for excellent entries in the contests.
The competition's closing and award ceremony is expected to be held in the fourth quarter of 2025.
