At the conference, comrade Vo Thanh Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, reported on the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
According to Meritorious Teacher, Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Minh Cu, Rector of Cuu Long University, in the period of 2020 - 2025, the school has proactively invested 3-5 billion VND per year in science and technology activities. In the past 5 years, the school has implemented 78 grassroots-level projects, 214 faculty-level projects and 149 student projects; compiled 164 textbooks for training.
The implementation of Resolution 57 at Cuu Long University is not only a political task but also an opportunity for the school to improve the quality of training and scientific research, affirming its pioneering role in promoting innovation and digital transformation locally and in the entire higher education sector.
The conference recorded 9 opinions of delegates and scientists revolving around issues of semiconductor technology; artificial intelligence; resources for the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation; digital transformation work at higher education institutions; mechanisms and policies of the Party and State in inviting foreign lecturers to teach at universities in general and Cuu Long University in particular; support for the establishment of the Center for Startups and Innovation at Cuu Long University...
Through the conference, cadres, lecturers, experts, staff and workers will be aware of the Party and State's viewpoints on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation to apply them in practice scientifically and effectively.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, emphasized the key role of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in the rapid and sustainable development of the country. Cuu Long University is a typical educational institution of the Mekong Delta region located in Vinh Long province, a locality rich in revolutionary traditions, with great development potential and a strategic position in the sustainable development of the region and the country.
