More than 3/4 of Hanoi public schools reduce admission scores for grade 10

(Dan Tri) - Of the 115 public high schools in Hanoi, 92 schools have reduced their entrance scores for grade 10 compared to 2024.

The Hanoi Departmentof Education and Training has just announced the exam scores and admission scores for public grade 10 in 2025.

With the number of non-specialized grade 10 quotas increasing by nearly 5,000, this year's benchmark scores have decreased quite significantly, especially in the group of schools with a competition ratio of less than 1.

According to statistics from the Department of Education and Training's benchmark data, 92 out of 115 schools reduced their entrance benchmark scores, equivalent to 80%.

The lowest reduction is 0.1 points/subject - equivalent to a reduction of 0.3 total points. The deepest reduction is 2.8 points/subject - equivalent to a reduction of 8.4 total points. This is the case of Tho Xuan High School, the school with the lowest competition rate in the city this year.

Many schools reduced their benchmark scores by 3 points or more, such as Nguyen Trai (old Ba Dinh), Nguyen Trai (old Thuong Tin), Phung Khac Khoan (old Thach That), Van Xuan, Da Phuc, Thuong Cat...

Schools that decreased by 4 points or more compared to 2024 include Thach Ban, Ung Hoa A, and Phuc Loi.

There are 11 schools that increased their benchmark scores. Among them, the school with the strongest increase is Doan Ket High School with 2.17 points/subject - equivalent to 6.51 total points.

Last year, Doan Ket school had fewer first-choice applicants than the enrollment target, leading to a drop in the benchmark score of more than 16 points, among the lowest benchmark scores in Hanoi . The Hanoi Department of Education and Training then decided to allow the school to recruit students across the city (recruiting throughout the city, candidates do not need to register their preferences in advance).

The remaining schools had a slight increase of 0.3-1.2 points.

Among these, the city's two top schools, Viet Duc and Kim Lien, increased by about 0.5 points compared to 2024.

There are 13 schools that almost keep the same standard score (the increase or decrease is only approximately 0.1 point).

This year, Hanoi increased 2 specialized schools but the total quota decreased by 240, leaving only 2,730 quotas with 78 classes.

The reason is that Chu Van An and Son Tay schools had to eliminate 14 non-specialized classes. Son Tay school alone had to eliminate the French class. At the same time, Chu Van An and Hanoi - Amsterdam schools eliminated 4 dual baccalaureate classes.

In contrast, the mass system has up to 75,670 targets, an increase of 4,945 targets compared to 2024, although the number of schools remains unchanged, stopping at 115 schools.
