On March 4th, the Inspectorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced that it had discovered the website nanozelle.com and the Facebook pages “Nanozelle Academy”, “K-Korean Aesthetic Training Institute”… posting advertising content in the field of medical examination and treatment.
Notably, these websites also offer training for filler, botox, and thread lifting procedures at 145 Nguyen Van Dau Street, Ward 5, Binh Thanh District, which shows signs of violating regulations.
Inspectors from the Department of Health, in coordination with the Health Department of Binh Thanh District and the People's Committee of Ward 5, Binh Thanh District, conducted a surprise inspection of the above address.
This is the address of Nanozelle International Aesthetics Training Institute.
At the time of inspection, the establishment was unable to produce any licenses for cosmetic practice or cosmetic training.
During the on-site inspection, it was noted that the facility had customer information forms related to medical examination and treatment services.
Additionally, the ground floor houses the reception area, the second floor contains skin care rooms, and the third floor has a room equipped with a bed, surgical lights, and medical instruments and equipment used in examination and treatment.
In addition, the 4th floor is used for training in filler and botox injection techniques, and the 5th floor serves as accommodation for trainees.
At the time of inspection, there were 3 trainees waiting to be trained, and products used for filler and botox injection techniques were readily available at the facility. However, the facility could not provide invoices or documents proving the origin of these products.
According to Trinh Ngoc Su, who identified himself as the facility manager, customer information forms for medical examinations and treatments such as dark circle injections, mesotherapy, botox, and skin injection services were performed by "Dr. Andy Lee" and several other doctors.
However, during the meeting, Mr. Su was unable to provide information on the professional qualifications and licenses of these collaborating doctors.
The Inspectorate of the Department of Health has ordered the facility to immediately cease all medical examination, treatment, and training activities until it has been licensed by the competent authority as required by regulations.
Simultaneously, immediately remove all advertising content in the healthcare sector and temporarily seize products of unknown origin at the facility for processing according to regulations.
Besides considering strict handling of unlicensed practice and the inability to prove that practitioners possess the required certifications, the Inspectorate of the Department of Health is also coordinating with the Inspectorate of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to consider strict handling, in accordance with regulations, of illegal training in cosmetic services at the facility.
Inter-agency coordination to inspect educational activities at beauty salons.
The Department of Health added that recently, the unit and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs held a meeting attended by the leaders of functional departments under both departments.
The two departments will cooperate in inspecting vocational education activities in the healthcare and beauty sectors, which fall under the responsibility and duties of both departments.
Simultaneously, coordinate the assessment of the conditions (facilities, qualifications of teaching staff, training programs, training curricula) of vocational education institutions and businesses when they register to operate.
