During an inventory of historical relics in Thai Hoa village, Can Loc commune, the Ha Tinh Museum recently discovered two valuable royal decrees dating back more than 300 years.

Based on the relatively intact content, it appears that the two royal decrees contain valuable information about the career of Mr. Dao Si Que and the history of migration and development of the Dao family in this region.

The first imperial decree, dated the 10th year of the Chính Hòa era (1689), during the reign of King Lê Hy Tông, states that Mr. Đào Sĩ Quế was then holding the position of Instructor in Diễn Châu prefecture.

He was a man of genuine learning; although he did not earn a doctorate, he passed all three imperial examinations, reaching the third level in each. After completing his term as a tutor, thanks to a recommendation from the Lord's court, he was promoted by the imperial court to the position of District Chief of Yen Dinh (in present-day Thanh Hoa province ).

The second imperial decree of the 22nd year of the Chinh Hoa era (1701) recorded that Mr. Dao Si Que was a worthy official and was deeply trusted. At this time, he held the position of Prefect of Quoc Oai Prefecture (now part of Hanoi ).

In particular, this imperial decree clearly demonstrates the administrative power of the Lord's court by stating that the promotion was carried out by order of the Imperial Commissioner and Grand Marshal, Duke of Tan Quoc, Trinh Binh, and in accordance with the instructions of Prince Dinh, Trinh Can. Accordingly, he was promoted to Deputy Inspector of Thanh Hoa (Thanh Hoa).

According to the Ha Tinh Provincial Museum, these two royal decrees are rare administrative documents that still retain the clear signatures and seals of "Royal Decree Seal" from the Le Trung Hung era.

However, over the course of more than 300 years, the paper documents have begun to show signs of deterioration, with frayed edges. The Ha Tinh Museum stated that it will cooperate with the Dao family to implement scientific preservation measures, and at the same time conduct further research to supplement the records on historical figures and relics in Can Loc district.
