Promoting democracy, gathering intelligence in social criticism

After listening to the draft report, delegates discussed enthusiastically, contributing many passionate, profound and responsible opinions.

On the morning of October 6, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Women's Union of Lai Thieu Ward (HCMC) held a conference to contribute comments on the draft documents to be submitted to the 1st Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Lai Thieu Ward, term 2025-2030 and the ward's socio-political organizations.

After listening to the draft report, delegates had a lively discussion, contributing many passionate, profound and responsible opinions. The content of the comments focused on the targets, tasks and directions for the coming term, especially the role and responsibility of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations in consolidating the great national unity bloc, participating in Party and government building, and social supervision and criticism.

Many opinions suggested clarifying the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in supervising the implementation of Resolution 98/2023/QH15 on piloting special mechanisms and policies for the development of Ho Chi Minh City; paying attention to social security and raising legal awareness for workers in residential areas, factories and enterprises.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang, a veteran of Hoa Lan ward, said that the draft needs to clearly reflect the difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing a two-level local government, and at the same time, specify the criteria for selecting association leaders to ensure worthiness, clear people, clear work, and clear responsibilities.

The leaders of Lai Thieu Ward Party Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the enthusiastic opinions of the delegates and affirmed that they would fully synthesize and complete the documents to submit to the competent authorities for approval. This is a broad political activity, demonstrating the spirit of democracy, promoting collective intelligence, contributing to the successful preparation of the 1st Congress of the Fatherland Front and the 1st Congress of the Women's Union of Lai Thieu Ward, term 2025-2030.
