The documents of the 4th Party Congress affirmed: “Times will pass, but the victory of our people in the resistance war against the US to save the country will forever be recorded in our national history as one of the most brilliant pages, a shining symbol of the complete victory of revolutionary heroism and human intelligence, going deep into world history as a great feat of the 20th century, an event of great international importance and profound epochal significance”. The great victory of the resistance war against the US to save the country left our people many invaluable lessons, of important significance for the country today and tomorrow.
At the end of the war, the Party led our people to immediately restore the country in extremely difficult circumstances. Our Party carried out a comprehensive renovation process, implementing the platform for building the country towards socialism. After nearly 40 years of implementing the renovation process, our country has achieved many extremely important victories and achievements.
The country has escaped the crisis, with rapid economic growth. The economic structure has changed positively towards industrialization and modernization, linking production with the market. The policy of developing a multi-sector economy has been effectively implemented, and the potential of economic sectors has been increasingly better promoted. The socialist-oriented market economy has gradually been formed, and the macro-economy has been basically stable. Social progress and equity have been achieved, and people's lives have been significantly improved.
At the 10th Conference of the Party Central Committee, 13th tenure (from September 18 to September 20, 2024), it was unanimously affirmed that Vietnam has entered an era of national development. This is an era of development, an era of prosperity, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam , successfully building socialism in our country, everyone has a prosperous and happy life.
The destination of the rising era is a rich people, a strong country, socialism, on par with other countries in the world. The top priority of the new era is to realize the strategic goal by 2030, Vietnam will become a developed, modern industrial country with high per capita income, and by 2045 become a developed socialist country with high income, strongly arousing national spirit, self-reliance, and the aspiration to develop the country. The starting point of the new era is determined to be the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Currently, the cause of innovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland of our people under the leadership of the Party is facing many opportunities and advantages, but also many difficulties and challenges. The world and regional situation has many fluctuations; hostile forces continue to intensify their sabotage against our Party and State, carry out "peaceful evolution", promote "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party with increasingly sophisticated and cunning methods and tricks.
The above situation requires strengthening solidarity and promoting the combined strength of the entire Party, people and army in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, especially effectively applying the lessons of the April 30, 1975 victory; taking advantage of opportunities to build and develop the country.
Along with that, it is necessary to promote the combination of socio-economic development with strengthening national defense, security, and foreign affairs; closely linking the implementation of socio-economic development strategies and plans with strengthening national defense, security, and foreign affairs.
Successfully implement the goals of the 13th National Party Congress, with the targets of prosperity, happiness, and strength towards the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding (2030) and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (2045); strive to realize the aspiration of successfully building a strong Vietnam.
At the same time, proactively fight to defeat all plots and sabotage tricks of hostile forces; resolutely fight against manifestations of bureaucracy, corruption, degradation, negativity, social evils..., ensuring the country's stability and development in the context of increasingly deep international integration.
The 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification is an opportunity to review and be proud of the glorious history. Promoting the spirit and spirit of the great victory of the Spring of 1975, our entire Party, people and army continue to unite, strive to successfully carry out the renovation process; unite, join hands and hearts to effectively carry out the revolution of streamlining the apparatus of the political system in the spirit of Resolution 18-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017 of the 12th Party Central Committee; promote the development of science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
The entire Party, the entire army, and the entire people, with the spirit of action, innovation, creativity, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility, will realize the aspiration to build our country to be more beautiful and stronger, to enhance the position and prestige of Vietnam in the region and the world; to firmly step into a new era - an era of national development and prosperity.
