Using the FarMoRe tool in sustainable and low-emission rice production

QTO - On September 22-23, the National Agricultural Extension Center coordinated with the Quang Tri Provincial Agricultural Extension Center to organize a training course on using the FarMoRe tool in sustainable and low-emission rice production in Dong Hoi ward for 30 trainees who are agricultural extension officers, agricultural officers, agricultural extension workers and rice farmers from the communes of Ninh Chau, Truong Ninh, Le Ninh, and Cam Hong.

Participating in the training course, trainees were provided with an overview of greenhouse gas emissions, sustainable rice production in the context of climate change and sustainable rice cultivation techniques, emission reduction being implemented in the province such as: "1 must 5 reductions", "3 reductions, 3 increases", improved rice intensification (SRI) combined with conservation agriculture (CA) model...

In addition, the trainees were also introduced to the FarMoRe application and its role in supporting farmers in monitoring their fields, assessing greenhouse gas emissions and optimizing farming processes. During the training, trainees practiced the operations from downloading the software, entering data, analyzing information and building production plans based on results from FarMoRe...

To better understand the role of the FarMoRe tool in rice production, within the framework of the training course, trainees will visit and learn about sustainable rice production and emission reduction experiences at Thuy Ba Tay Cooperative, Vinh Thuy commune. It is known that in the summer-autumn crop of 2025, the Cooperative has applied the FarMoRe tool to support field monitoring and greenhouse gas emission assessment for 100 hectares of rice. From this model, trainees will learn a lot of experience and have solutions to apply the FarMoRe tool as well as digital technology to sustainable rice production, low emissions in the locality in the coming time.
