Director and People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau, a member of the judging panel for the 2026 National Cai Luong Actor Talent Competition, said he had witnessed the great efforts of the contestants. He shared that for the categories featuring distinctive roles, the contestants will be selected and portrayed by characters with outstanding personalities and acting aptitudes rather than vocal abilities. This is also an opportunity for the contestants to showcase their talents.

Artist Hoang Tuan Thinh from the Vietnam National Traditional Theatre shared that geographical differences can create different vocal characteristics. He explained that while vocal talent might not be a strong point, it can be compensated for by other talents, such as acting. He also shared the difficulties of playing a villain for the first time, a role that required a lot of energy and constant emotional changes.

After watching the performances at the "National Cai Luong Actor Talent Competition 2026," Ms. Nguyen Minh Tuyet from Go Vap Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, expressed her satisfaction that the contestants had given their all in their performances. She believes this is a promising sign for the country's theatrical scene.

Pham Hong Tiep, a zither artist from the Vietnam National Traditional Theatre, shared his thoughts on the role of music in Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera). He explained that musicians provide support, adjusting the tempo and rhythm to allow the performers to fully express themselves in their performances.
The judging panel is currently evaluating the entries to select the most outstanding contestants. The closing ceremony and awards presentation will take place at 8 PM tonight, May 23, 2026, at the Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong Theatre.
