The 42nd session of the National Assembly Standing Committee opened on February 5.

The Office of the National Assembly said that, as planned, the 42nd session of the National Assembly Standing Committee will take place for 2.5 days, from February 5-7, 2025, at the Tan Trao meeting room, National Assembly House.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man delivered the opening speech and, together with the Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly, took turns chairing the meeting.

At this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on: the draft Law on Government Organization (amended); the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the organizational structure of the Government for the 15th National Assembly term; the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the structure of the number of Government members for the 15th National Assembly term; the draft Law on Organization of Local Government (amended); the draft Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents (amended).

The National Assembly Standing Committee also gave opinions on: the draft Resolution of the National Assembly to resolve issues arising in legal provisions related to the organization of the apparatus; the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on the Organization of the National Assembly; the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the organizational structure of the National Assembly's specialized agencies; the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the number of members of the 15th National Assembly Standing Committee (amended); the draft Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the specific tasks, powers and organizational structure of the National Assembly's specialized agencies; the draft Ordinance on Management and Protection of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Relic Site.

In addition, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and adopt a number of resolutions to implement the Law on Organization of People's Courts in 2024.

The National Assembly Standing Committee will also give opinions on explaining, accepting and revising the draft Law on Teachers; the draft Law on Chemicals (amended); and consider the draft Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on explaining a number of articles of the 2022 Law on Emulation and Commendation.

Regarding supervision work, the National Assembly Standing Committee will review the National Assembly's report on people's petitions in January 2025.

Regarding decisions on important issues, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and approve: Resolution approving the proposal of the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy on the organization of the Supreme People's Procuracy; Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on principles, criteria and norms for allocating public investment capital from the state budget for the 2026-2030 period.

At the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on personnel work according to its authority./.
