This sluggish sales had been ongoing for several weeks prior. Currently, " Underworld Beauty Salon" has completely withdrawn from online ticket sales. " Underworld Beauty Salon" ended prematurely, less than a month after its release, only bringing in 12.6 billion VND from the time special screenings were opened on May 6th. This revenue shows that the film has not yet recouped its costs and is likely to incur losses of tens of billions of VND.

"Underworld Beauty Salon" features a cast including Xuan Lan, Ngoc Trinh, Le Xuan Tien, Rima Thanh Vy, and others. The film follows Thanh, a female doctor forced to take a job at Mrs. Xuan's mysterious beauty salon to earn money to save her critically ill lover. From there, she becomes entangled in a series of bizarre phenomena occurring in the isolated hospital nestled in the mountains.

The film's screenwriter attempts to weave in many new ideas, from folk spirituality and physical horror to psychological drama, but the lack of coherence in the plot makes the overall story confusing. The second half reveals many illogical points, especially in how the characters react to supernatural phenomena. The frequent repetition of sudden jump scares diminishes the tension.

Ngoc Trinh filmed a scene where she slashed her own face for the first time.

Making her debut in a horror film, Ngoc Trinh appeared different on screen with her modest appearance and reserved personality, while also showing significant progress in her nuanced acting and vocal delivery.

The "Queen of Lingerie" shared her reasons for accepting this role: "People have always seen a very energetic Ngoc Trinh, sometimes a bit boisterous. But this is a role that Trinh feels has more depth, involves a lot of acting through her eyes, and is the kind of role Trinh has wanted to play for a long time. When I read the script, I really liked it. I also haven't seen any horror films related to beauty salons. These are the two elements that interested me."

Originally a model, associated with a sexy and beautiful image, Ngoc Trinh didn't worry about her appearance when she entered the film industry. She wasn't afraid to look unattractive and was willing to go without makeup to serve her character if the script required it. In "Underworld Beauty Salon," her appearance was always reviewed by director Nguyen Huu Hoang before filming began.
