This work, a psychological thriller, is adapted from the webcomic "Face" created by Yeon Sang-ho himself.
The film opens with the story of Im Yeong Gyu, a blind and talented seal engraver who has lived his entire life in darkness but has created some of the most beautiful seals in the world .

Yeong Gyu's wife, Young Hee, disappeared long ago, and they had a son together named Dong Hwan. Young Hee was found after 40 years, but only as remains. Sensing many anomalies, Dong Hwan joins director Kim Su-jin in his quest to uncover the truth about his mother, grappling with the most agonizing question: "What did my mother look like?"
Just before its official release in South Korea, *The Face* had the honor of being screened at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in the Special Presentations category.
The film received much praise after its screening, particularly for Yeon Sang-ho's insightful perspective and the acting talent of lead actor Park Jeong-min in both roles of father and son Yeong Gyu - Dong Hwan.

On its opening day in South Korea, "The Face" became a box office sensation, instantly taking the number one spot. After a week of fiercely holding the top position, the film grossed nearly $3.5 million, attracting over 467,000 viewers (according to statistics from the Korean Film Council - KOFIC).

Thanks to this, director Yeon Sang-ho's team confidently secured distribution rights in 157 countries, including Vietnam.
The film officially premiered in theaters on October 3rd.
