On August 19, the People's Council of Dong Nai province, term X, 2021-2026, held the 19th session (special session) to decide on personnel work under the authority of the Provincial People's Council.
Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Council Thai Bao and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Hoang Thi Bich Hang chaired the meeting.
Attending the meeting were Party Central Committee member, Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Thanh Son; Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province Cao Van Quang.
At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Thai Bao, on behalf of the Provincial People's Council, presented a proposal to introduce the candidate for the election of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, term X, 2021-2026, for Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc. After that, the delegates of the Provincial People's Council voted by secret ballot to elect the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
With 100% of the votes in agreement from the delegates attending the session, the 10th Dong Nai Provincial People's Council elected comrade Vo Tan Duc to hold the position of Chairman of the 10th Provincial People's Committee, term 2021-2026.
Thus, the current Standing Committee of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee includes: Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc and Vice Chairmen Nguyen Son Hung; Vo Van Phi and Nguyen Thi Hoang.
Also at this session, the delegates of Dong Nai Provincial People's Council also voted to approve the dismissal of Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Huong, a delegate of the Provincial People's Council of Nhon Trach district, from the position of delegate of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.
In his closing speech, Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Council Thai Bao assessed that the Provincial People's Council delegates demonstrated a high sense of responsibility towards the Party Committee, voters and people in the province, focused, united, and showed high confidence in the election of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman.
The result of the absolute approval vote of the delegates attending the meeting demonstrated the high trust of the provincial People's Council delegates in comrade Vo Tan Duc.
Dong Nai Provincial People's Council hopes that in his new position, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc will continue to promote and uphold the spirit of responsibility, solidarity, efforts, and strive with the Provincial People's Committee to direct, manage, and successfully implement the political goals and tasks of the Provincial Party Committee in the coming time.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc sincerely thanked the delegates of the Provincial People's Council for their trust and confidence in electing him to the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term. At the same time, he said that this is a great honor and responsibility, requiring him to focus his heart and mind, and constantly strive to fulfill his responsibilities well, worthy of the trust of the delegates of the Provincial People's Council and the People.
Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc promised to continue promoting the spirit of solidarity, innovation and creativity to soon turn Dong Nai into a civilized and modern province.
New Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc, born in 1970, hometown Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province. Professional qualifications: Master of Construction Management, Bachelor of National Economic Planning; Bachelor of Finance and Accounting; Senior in Political Theory.
Before being assigned as Acting Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Vo Tan Duc held various positions in Nhon Trach district before being elected as Vice Chairman of Nhon Trach District People's Committee; Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of Long Thanh District People's Committee; and was elected as Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee at the end of 2020.
On August 9, 2024, the 11th Dong Nai Provincial Party Executive Committee elected Mr. Vo Tan Duc to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
Previously, on August 2, 2023, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang signed Decision No. 908/QD-TTg assigning the authority of Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term to Mr. Vo Tan Duc, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee until the position of Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee is completed.
