The visit is not only a meaningful gratitude activity on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, but also deeply demonstrates the spirit of "When drinking water, remember its source" and responsibility to those who have devoted and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation.
Accompanying the delegation were Party Central Committee member, City Party Committee Secretary, People's Council Chairman, Head of the City National Assembly Delegation Le Truong Luu and leaders of the City People's Committee.
In Thuan Hoa ward, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son visited and presented gifts to Ms. Le Thi Nhan, Ms. Nguyen Thi Chuyen, and Mr. Le Xuan Toan.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tien (born in 1926) was a pre-uprising cadre. He participated in the August Revolution in 1945 and was imprisoned by the enemy in 1949. He was awarded the First Class Anti-American Resistance Medal by the State; National Emulation Fighter in 1962, 1980 to 1985. He currently lives with his son and his wife has passed away.
Ms. Le Thi Nhan (born in 1951), Ms. Nguyen Thi Chuyen (born in 1948), and Mr. Le Xuan Toan (born in 1950) are wounded soldiers, carrying many physical and mental wounds.

In Kim Long ward, the Deputy Prime Minister also visited and presented gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan. She is a war invalid (81% physical injury rate). She participated in the December 1964 revolution, was the Captain of the Armed Task Force of Huong Tho commune, Huong Thuy district (old), and was injured in February 1968 at the Southern Front while directly commanding combat when the enemy attacked Hue city. The severe injury to her spine paralyzed both legs and prevented her from walking.
She has one son, martyr Tran Minh Hai, Lieutenant Colonel, Deputy Chief of Staff of Hue City Military Command, who died while participating in rescue at Rao Trang 3 Hydropower Plant in 2020. She was awarded the title of Vietnamese Heroic Mother by the State in 2021. Currently, she lives with her husband, Mr. Tran Thien Cuong, a 25% disabled veteran.

At the places he visited, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized: “The Party and State always remember and appreciate the great contributions of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers, and people with meritorious services to the revolution. That is the precious spiritual foundation of the nation, which needs to be continued and spread to today’s and future generations.”

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son hopes that families with meritorious services will continue to promote revolutionary traditions, actively educate their children to preserve their qualities, strive to study and work, and contribute to building their homeland to become increasingly rich, beautiful, and civilized.
Along with that, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son requested that local Party committees and authorities at all levels continue to fully and promptly implement preferential policies and care for the material and spiritual lives of people with revolutionary contributions.
