On the morning of December 18th, Comrade Ho Quoc Dung, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Deputy Prime Minister, along with a government delegation, visited and extended Christmas greetings to the Archbishop's Palace of the Archdiocese of Hue ; they also visited and congratulated Archbishop Joseph Dang Duc Ngan, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Hue, as well as priests, dignitaries, religious, and parishioners on the occasion of Christmas.

On behalf of the Party, State leaders and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front , Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung extended his best wishes to Archbishop Joseph Dang Duc Ngan and all priests, dignitaries, religious, faithful and Catholic people in the Archdiocese of Hue for a peaceful and happy Christmas; and wished them a healthy, joyful and successful New Year 2026.
The Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged and highly appreciated the role and positive contributions of Archbishop Joseph Dang Duc Ngan and the priests and religious in mobilizing Catholic compatriots to live "good lives and beautiful faith," to be closely involved with and cooperate with the Party committees, government and local political system in socio-economic development, to maintain national unity, and to contribute to building an increasingly prosperous homeland.
Sharing the difficulties and losses suffered by the people, including Catholics, due to the recent historic floods, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung emphasized that in times of hardship, the spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance of the Vietnamese people is even more strongly demonstrated. People of all religions, including Catholics, have actively joined hands to support and help each other, contributing to the early stabilization of life and restoration of production.
Providing further information on the country's socio-economic situation, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung stated that in 2025, the Government effectively implemented the two-tiered local government model, and the socio-economic situation continued to recover and develop positively; all 15 key indicators met or exceeded the set targets. Among these important results, the religions in general, and the Archbishop and the Archdiocese of Hue in particular, made significant contributions.

Archbishop Joseph Dang Duc Ngan expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the attention of the Party, State, and Government leaders, and affirmed that he will continue to encourage Catholic compatriots to live virtuous lives, and to work alongside the local government and people in building and developing Hue City and the country to become increasingly prosperous, beautiful, and civilized.
Earlier that morning, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung also visited and presented gifts to two Catholic families in difficult circumstances affected by floods in Hue City to celebrate Christmas. He also inspected the construction and repair of houses damaged by the natural disaster during the "Quang Trung Campaign" in Loc An commune, Hue City.
