Three key projects and works commenced construction and were inaugurated.

On December 19th, the province simultaneously commenced construction and inaugurated three projects: Dinh Khao Bridge, Phu Thuan Industrial Park, and a social housing project (Long Chau Ward). Along with the rest of the country, these are key projects to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

In an atmosphere of excitement, solemnity, and high expectations, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Dinh Khao Bridge – a key transportation project spanning the Co Chien River – marked a significant milestone in completing inter-regional transportation infrastructure, fulfilling the aspirations of the people to connect the two banks of the river.

Ms. Ngo Thi Kieu Linh (from Nhon Phu commune), a small business owner at My An market, hopes that the bridge will open up new business opportunities, facilitate the trade of agricultural products, and speed up transportation.

Mr. An Quoc Huy, Director of Quoc Huy Construction, Trading and Service Co., Ltd., said that the Dinh Khao bridge, after completion, will not only facilitate travel for the people but also open up many new development opportunities for businesses.

"The company has an inland port system, so convenient inter-regional and intra-regional transportation routes will help attract customers and open up many new opportunities for the business," Mr. Huy said.

Thanks to the decisive direction from the central government, the responsible involvement of local authorities, and the support and cooperation of the people in land clearance work, conditions have been created to ensure the project is implemented on schedule and with guaranteed quality.

Representing the consortium of contractors, Mr. Tran Quang Tuan - Chairman and General Director of Central Construction Joint Stock Company, stated that with many years of experience in infrastructure development and construction of large-scale projects nationwide, the consortium of investors is committed to strictly adhering to technical regulations, safety standards, and design requirements of the project; ensuring the progress, quality, and aesthetics of the project as committed; and prioritizing labor safety and environmental protection throughout the construction process.

“The project also demonstrates a spirit of long-term partnership and a strong commitment to contributing to the sustainable infrastructure development of Vinh Long province in particular and the Mekong Delta region in general.”

"At the same time, this also affirms the social responsibility of the consortium of investors towards the overall development process of the country," Mr. Tuan said.

According to Tran Tri Quang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, this is an event of special significance, demonstrating the high political determination of the Provincial Party Committee, government, and people in prioritizing investment in the development of a synchronous and modern transportation infrastructure.

This will create a strong impetus to promote socio -economic development, strengthen regional connectivity and linkages, expand development space, and gradually complete the local transportation infrastructure, thereby improving the quality of life for the people throughout the province.

The project contributes to improving and enhancing the operational capacity of National Highway 57, alleviating traffic congestion in the Dinh Khao ferry area; facilitating convenient travel for the people. It also strengthens seamless traffic connections with National Highway 57, National Highway 53, National Highway 1, and key expressways in the Mekong Delta region.

Phu Thuan Industrial Park inaugurated

With a scale of over 231 hectares, Phu Thuan Industrial Park is expected to become a new pillar, driving the province to achieve double-digit growth targets from 2026.

This project is entirely funded by the local budget, demonstrating the strong determination of the provincial leadership in creating new development spaces and boosting the economy, especially the marine economy.

Mr. Tran Thanh Phong, Vice Chairman of the Phu Thuan Commune People's Committee, said that the government and people hope to attract many businesses to invest in the industrial park in the field of agricultural product processing.

Through this, we will directly contribute to improving the spiritual and material lives of the people. The specific goal is to strive to bring the average per capita income to 150 million VND/year by 2030, closely following the Resolution of the Party Congress for the current term.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Truc Son emphasized that Phu Thuan Industrial Park plays an important role in shifting the economic structure, creating jobs, increasing budget revenue, and enhancing the province's competitiveness.

The province is committed to continuing to support businesses, significantly improving the investment environment, accelerating administrative procedure reforms, and creating the most favorable conditions for investors to confidently conduct long-term production and business in Phu Thuan Industrial Park.

The goal is that by 2030, Phu Thuan Industrial Park will be largely fully occupied, creating jobs for over 20,000 workers, contributing approximately 1,000 billion VND annually to the budget, and making a significant contribution to the sustainable socio-economic development of the province.

The social housing project in the Long Chau Ward administrative and residential area is being developed on a 5,800m2 plot of land, comprising a 15-story building with 449 apartments. The total investment for the project is approximately 614 billion VND.

Mr. Le Ngoc Hung, General Director of Phu Cuong Investment Joint Stock Company, the project's investor, affirmed: This project is the company's commitment to working alongside the local authorities to address the real housing needs of the people.

The company focuses on timely implementation; selecting high-quality, experienced, and reputable contractors and consultants; and carefully controlling construction materials and construction quality. We are committed to completing the project by 2026.

According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Dang Van Chinh, the project is a concrete step in implementing the major policies of the Party, State, and Government, linked to the "Investment in the construction of at least 1 million social housing units for low-income earners and industrial park workers in the period 2021-2030" project.

The province has been assigned a target by the Prime Minister to complete 38,500 social housing units by 2030. The commencement of the social housing project in Long Chau ward is clear evidence of the political determination of the Party Committee, government, and people of the province in implementing and achieving that goal.

Upon completion and commissioning, the project will help those eligible for housing support policies to have a place to live, stabilize their lives, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the province.

The project will also contribute to urban beautification, improve infrastructure in Long Chau ward, and create momentum for the development of the province's new administrative and residential center.

Mr. Tran Van Nghia, a resident living in the project area, expects that the Phu Thuan Industrial Park will create a major turning point for the local economy, especially in providing local employment. This will stabilize livelihoods and directly contribute to the economic development of households. The industrial park is also expected to support the consumption and market access for agricultural products, contributing to the strong transformation of the coastal region's economy.
