Comrade Thai Thi Mai, Standing Vice President of the Provincial Labor Union, stated: Currently, the province has 1,269 grassroots trade unions in the administrative, public service, and enterprise sectors, as well as in cooperatives and professional associations, with a total of over 50,630 union members. With a spirit of proactiveness, innovation, creativity, and flexible adaptation, the workforce of Son La has been creating positive and profound changes in the province's socio-economic development. Identifying the "Excellent Worker, Creative Worker" emulation movement as a key driving force, in recent times, trade unions at all levels in the province have continuously innovated the content and methods of organizing emulation movements, closely adhering to the political tasks and specific characteristics of each agency, unit, and enterprise.

A notable feature in recent years is the widespread implementation of the "Excellent Worker, Creative Worker" emulation movement, closely linked to the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style, as well as major campaigns of the Party and State. Over the past five years, the province has seen more than 9,340 proposed initiatives and solutions, with over 8,700 recognized at the grassroots level, focusing on the fields of production and business, healthcare and education , and management and administration. Many initiatives are yielding tangible results, contributing to increased labor productivity, improved service quality, reduced costs, and streamlined administrative procedures. Movements such as "Innovation and Creativity in Teaching and Learning," "Promoting Technical Innovation," "Improving Medical Ethics," and "Building a Culturally Safe and Exemplary Workplace" have truly become driving forces for development in many agencies, units, and businesses.

From 2019 to the present, medical staff in Son La province have proposed and implemented more than 1,300 innovative projects, including 16 projects awarded the Creative Labor Certificate by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. At the 9th Son La Provincial Technical Innovation Competition in 2024, medical staff excelled, winning 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 1 third prize, and 1 consolation prize. In particular, the solution using the FESSA external fixation frame to treat intertrochanteric femoral fractures, developed by a team of authors from Son La Provincial General Hospital, won the First Prize and was highly praised for its novelty and practicality. The "Excellent Worker, Creative Worker" emulation movement has become a driving force promoting learning, dedication, and innovation throughout the sector, making a positive contribution to the care, protection, and improvement of people's health.

The movement to promote excellent and creative work in the Education and Training sector of Son La province has been widely implemented in recent times, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere in 509 educational institutions with the participation of more than 23,500 administrators and teachers. Typical movements such as "Teaching well, learning well," "Every teacher is a role model of morality, self-learning and creativity," and "Building friendly schools and active students" have been regularly maintained, contributing to fostering a proactive and creative spirit in teaching and learning. The signing of emulation agreements between the Director of the Department of Education and Training, the Chairman of the Education Sector Trade Union, and the principals of schools and grassroots trade unions has created momentum to improve the quality of education, especially for 12th grade students. Along with this, the provincial education sector has actively implemented humanitarian campaigns such as "Supporting education in mountainous, remote, and particularly disadvantaged areas" and "Leaving no student behind." These efforts have brought about significant changes in the quality of education: in 2024, the high school graduation exam results reached 99.84%, and Son La City proudly became a member of UNESCO's Global Learning Cities Network – the 5th locality in the country to be recognized with this title.

Ms. Do Thi Thuy Ha, a teacher at the Mai Son District Continuing Education Center, shared: "The unique characteristic of continuing education is the diverse range of learners from different backgrounds. Therefore, each lesson and each method must be flexible, relatable, and create motivation and confidence for the learners. We constantly innovate our teaching methods, apply information technology, enhance group discussions, and discuss practical situations… to help learners effectively absorb information and develop comprehensive abilities. The emulation movement is a driving force for each teacher to continuously improve themselves, contributing to raising the quality of education for all learners."

Furthermore, emulation movements on occupational safety and hygiene, improving working conditions, and building a "Green - Clean - Beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene" work environment have been widely implemented, contributing to the formation of a professional and civilized work style. Through this, the awareness, responsibility, and status of workers are gradually enhanced in the era of industrialization, modernization of the country, and international integration.

With a foundation of unity, creativity, and continuous innovation, the workforce of Son La province continues to uphold revolutionary traditions and actively contribute to building a green, rapid, and sustainable Son La province.
