The Elderly Association of Binh Dinh commune has over 4,600 members participating in 20 branches. This is a large and experienced force, always exemplary and leading in grassroots movements. To create suitable recreational activities, the Elderly Association has developed many diverse models such as: 18 volleyball clubs, 12 health and wellness clubs, 14 performing arts groups, 2 intergenerational clubs, and 1 poetry club. These activities not only help improve health but also enhance the spiritual life of members. Mr. Nguyen Cao Dien, Chairman of the Elderly Association of the commune, said: "We always focus on diversifying activities, creating conditions for members to participate according to their health and interests. Through this, the elderly not only live happily but also actively contribute to the community. Along with maintaining the clubs, healthcare for the elderly is implemented systematically." The association has collaborated with the commune's health station to establish a health record, organize regular check-ups, and provide consultations on common ailments such as musculoskeletal disorders, cardiovascular diseases, and hypertension for its members. From 2021 to the present, over 4,200 members have received eye examinations; and 30 health care workshops have been organized with nearly 4,000 participants. These activities contribute to raising awareness and helping the elderly become more proactive in taking care of themselves.

A notable highlight is the establishment and development of intergenerational clubs. In Thai Hoa and Hoa Binh villages, this model has proven remarkably effective, with operating funds exceeding 200 million VND from social contributions and member donations. Beyond providing capital for economic development, the clubs also organize various activities such as healthcare, visiting members, and fostering community cohesion. Initially, the Thai Hoa village intergenerational self-help club had 55 members with an initial fund of 100 million VND. To date, the number of members has increased, and the fund has been maintained and developed, helping many families improve their income and stabilize their lives. The club has supported dozens of needy cases with money and labor. In addition, regular activities such as health exercises, cultural performances, and birthday celebrations for members are maintained, creating a joyful and close-knit atmosphere.

Not only are they active in social activities, but the elderly in Binh Dinh commune also set a good example in building the grassroots political system. Many members participate in mediation, maintaining unity, mobilizing the people to effectively implement the policies and guidelines of the Party and State, and working together to build green, clean, and beautiful roads. In addition, the spirit of mutual support and compassion has a strong influence. From 2021 to the present, over 3,800 elderly people have received birthday celebrations with a total amount exceeding 1.35 billion VND. The association has coordinated support to renovate dilapidated houses for over 10 members in difficult circumstances, and has also mobilized philanthropists to care for poor and near-poor elderly people during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year). Many exemplary individuals have contributed to beautifying the movement, such as Ms. Tran Thi Can, who donated 40 sets of clothes to members of the health and wellness club and the performing arts team in Phu Coc village; and the family of Mr. Pham Van Thiem, Son Tho village, who donated hundreds of meters of silk fabric to make traditional costumes. Mr. Dao Quoc Thinh from Kha Canh village contributed over 130 million VND to support local activities...

The "Elderly Role Models" movement in Binh Dinh commune has deepened with many practical and effective activities. Elderly people are not only a source of spiritual support in their families but also an important force contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
