On the night of August 26, the water level of the Tich River rose rapidly, and the Hanoi City Civil Defense Command issued a level III flood alert.
In Tung Thien ward, river water overflowed the dike adjacent to Tich Giang, threatening to flood about 40 hectares of flower and ornamental plant growing area in Trung Son Tram, Tung Thien ward, affecting the lives of local people. The functional forces and local people worked overnight to build a dike to prevent river water from flooding the area.




On the morning of August 27, the water level on the Tich River at Vinh Phuc station exceeded alert level 3, the hydrometeorological agency warned of a level 2 flood disaster risk. Tung Thien Ward continued to mobilize grassroots forces and 50 officers and soldiers of the Air Defense - Air Force Academy to urgently dig soil, pour sand into sacks, and use pineapple tarps to prevent the Tich River from overflowing into the Quang - Trung Son Tram sluice area, in order to control the water flow, protect production and people's property.


Chairman of Tung Thien Ward People's Committee Nguyen Viet Dat said that the water level of Tich River continues to rise, and the work to overcome the impact of flood is being urgently and drastically carried out by the ward's functional forces according to the motto "4 on-site". Initially, the embankment has been raised to prevent flood water from overflowing into crop fields and residential areas in the area.
The Civil Defense Command of Tung Thien Ward has also increased its 24/7 on-duty work, ready to respond to floods; at the same time, it has notified people in low-lying areas that are likely to be flooded to evacuate their assets and vehicles to safe places, in order to minimize damage caused by floods...
