In early May, a series of videos showing dancers in traditional costumes performing at Dragon Nest Coffee, a cafe in Tu Son ward, Bac Ninh province, attracted a large amount of attention.
Against a backdrop of melodious music, female dancers, dressed in layered gowns and with elaborately styled hair, gracefully moved among the tables of customers. The restaurant's ambiance, bathed in warm yellow light and mingled with soft music, evoked images of Chinese historical dramas for many.
Many customers sat drinking and watching attentively, constantly recording videos with their phones. Some children were even approached by the dancers for interaction, candy, and to pose for photos.
Nguyen Duc Phong Hao, the owner of the coffee shop, said that right from its opening in mid-April, the shop had aimed to incorporate traditional dance performances into the customer experience.
"The cafe enjoys a blend of Japanese, Korean, and Chinese cultures, so in addition to the interior design, we've also incorporated traditional dance into the cafe's activities to create a more engaging experience for our customers," he shared with Tri Thức - Znews .

Besides the attention-grabbing traditional dance performances, the restaurant also hosts musical performances and rents out Japanese, Korean, and Chinese costumes for customers to take photos and check in.
Traditional dance performances now take place every Sunday evening, from 8 PM to 10:30 PM. Previously, the venue also hosted performances on Saturday nights, but these weekend evenings are now reserved for musical performances.

Several other cafes in Bac Ninh have also started incorporating traditional dance performances into their offerings for customers.
At Bọt Coffee & Tea Healthy, live performances are held every Friday evening. In the garden setting, dancers perform on stage and then come down to interact with guests.
According to Than Thi Loc, the owner of the cafe, this model suits the cafe's garden style and provides customers with an additional experience beyond simply enjoying healthy drinks.
The restaurant is open from 8 AM to 11 PM daily, while traditional dance performances usually take place from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

Recently, cafes styled after ancient Chinese costumes, offering costume rentals and dance performances, have also appeared in many other localities.
In Da Lat, Happy Hill film set attracts many visitors thanks to its model. Opened in 2017 and boasting the advantage of natural scenery near Tuyen Lam Lake, this location began to shift its focus from mid-October 2025 when it created the image of "Little Dragon Girl" dressed in martial arts costumes, conversing with visitors in the style of 1990s TVB drama dubbing. This character quickly became a highlight for check-ins, frequently interacting and taking photos with tourists.
The viral effect on social media has led to a surge in visitors. During the recent April 30th holiday, the place experienced another wave of visitors. Many people lined up early to meet "Miss Dragon," and some even waited for several hours but still couldn't get a chance to interact with her due to the overwhelming crowds.
