Let's join hands to build a loving and caring home.
On the eve of the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse, joy came to the family of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nu (village 5, Hoa Tien commune) as their new, spacious house was completed and put into use. Mrs. Nu's family is in difficult circumstances; she is the wife of a fallen soldier. Her old house, built many years ago, had seriously deteriorated, with cracked walls and a leaky roof every rainy season, causing the family great worry.
In that situation, the Women's Union of Hoa Tien commune surveyed the area and mobilized the Agribank branch in Hoa Vang - South Da Nang to provide 60 million VND to rebuild the house. Ms. Nu shared: "Now that I'm in the new house, I feel more secure when the rainy and stormy season comes. I am truly grateful to the Women's Union at all levels, the government, and benefactors who have cared for and helped my family have a warm home like today."
In Thu Bon commune, the renovation of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai's house (A Dong village), scheduled to begin at the end of 2025, has brought great joy to her family. Ms. Hai is in a particularly difficult situation; her husband suffers from a serious illness and is in poor health. As the main breadwinner, she takes care of the family and raises two grandchildren who are of school age. The old house was severely dilapidated, with cracked walls and a leaky roof after many storms, posing a safety risk. Therefore, the Thu Bon Women's Union mobilized businesses and philanthropists to support the family with over 120 million VND to rebuild the house.
Similarly, in early 2026, the house built out of compassion for Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh (Phuoc Ninh village, Que Son Trung commune) was inaugurated amidst the joy of her family. The total construction cost was 300 million VND. Previously, the Women's Union of the commune, in coordination with political and social organizations in the area, supported her with 50 million VND; the remaining amount was contributed by the family, philanthropists, and social organizations. The new house, completed before the Lunar New Year, has provided Ms. Binh's family with a stable place to live, giving them peace of mind before the rainy and stormy season.
These charitable homes not only help female members overcome difficulties but also demonstrate the community's collective effort in caring for the lives of vulnerable women.
Giving women the "fishing rod" to help them rise up.
Besides providing housing support, women's associations at all levels focus on creating livelihoods for poor members, helping women to develop economically and stabilize their lives.

After more than six months of care, the breeding cow belonging to Ms. Huynh Thi Thuy Tam (Khuong My village, Hoa Vang commune) is thriving. Her family is in difficult circumstances; Ms. Tam suffers from kidney failure, while her husband works as a manual laborer with an unstable income. Therefore, the Hoa Vang Commune Women's Union mobilized various organizations to provide a breeding cow to her family. In addition to Ms. Tam, seven other disadvantaged women also received breeding cows and chickens from the Women's Union in coordination with the Australian World Relief Organization to develop their livestock farming.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly, President of the Women's Union of Hoa Vang commune, the union always focuses on supporting disadvantaged women members through various forms such as providing livelihoods, assisting with loans, introducing jobs, and training in production techniques. Thanks to this, many members have gradually stabilized their lives and risen out of poverty.
Following the motto "Give a fishing rod rather than a fish," women's associations at all levels have implemented many practical livelihood support models. In Thang Dien commune, the Women's Union, in coordination with the People's Committee of the commune, recently donated 29 female cows to 16 poor and near-poor women's households, with each household receiving one to two cows depending on their circumstances.
In addition, the association organizes training courses on animal care and disease prevention, helping women improve the efficiency of livestock farming. In Thang An commune, the Women's Union donated 70 piglets to 35 poor and near-poor households, with each household receiving two piglets, totaling over 171 million VND. The program helps households have more opportunities to develop livestock farming, increase income, and gradually improve their living standards.
In 2025, women's associations at all levels provided 115 livelihood support programs and 958 health insurance cards with a total budget of over 2.4 billion VND to disadvantaged women members; sponsored and cared for 2,588 orphans; and supported the construction and repair of 26 houses with a total budget of over 1.2 billion VND, contributing to helping many families stabilize their lives and rise out of poverty.
Over the past period, the City Women's Union has implemented many humane and effective models such as: "Savings Piggy Bank", "Savings Rice Jar", "Sharing the Love for Breakfast", "Godmother", "Warm Blanket of the Union"... contributing to caring for the material and spiritual lives of poor members and children in difficult circumstances.
In particular, under the "Accompanying Women in Border Areas" program, the City Women's Union and its branches at all levels have donated over 1,800 gifts and built 8 houses for members. In the coming time, the Women's Union at all levels will continue to promote the movement to support women's economic development, replicate effective models, and strengthen connections with social resources to better care for members in difficult circumstances.
