Regulations on grade 1 admission
Admission process for grade 1 according to 2 subjects:
Subject 1 : Priority admission is given to students whose "current residence" is within the locality and within the prescribed age.
Subject 2 : Students who wish to study in an area other than their actual residence.
The district-level admissions steering committee will consider priority admission in order of specific cases of each region such as:
- Students whose father or mother works in the area (teachers, civil servants, public employees working at agencies, schools in the district; other agencies in the district).
- Students whose "current residence" according to VNeID is in the border areas between districts bordering Tan Binh district.
- Students transfer provinces.
- Students with special local circumstances.
Non-priority cases will be considered last, based on the remaining quota of the schools and the decision of the primary admission steering committee.
Students in category 2 must ensure the following conditions: Register for admission on the city's admission system, meet the criteria in the district's admission plan. The primary admission steering committee can consider admission in order of subjects and priority regimes, ensuring compliance with the district's admission plan and the time frame issued by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.
There are 26 primary schools in the district that organize English enrichment classes for first graders according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program and the city's own roadmap.
Tran Quoc Toan Primary School is enrolling in the French intensive program.
The integrated English program enrolls students at 7 primary schools: Le Van Sy, Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, Dong Da, Nguyen Van Troi, Tran Quoc Tuan, Tan Tru, Hung Vuong.
Class size is no more than 35 students. Students participate in the integrated program on a voluntary basis and there is no entrance exam.

According to the People's Committee of Tan Binh District, secondary schools will ensure 100% of places for students of the prescribed age, "currently residing" in the area and having completed the primary school program at primary schools in the area to enter grade 6 according to the list prescribed by the primary school admission steering committee.
Admission method: Admission is based on the results of training and learning at the primary level and uses data from digital maps to serve the allocation of students, in which the admission plan of each school is decided by the primary admission steering committee according to the actual situation in the locality.
The admission process is as follows:
Subject 1:
Students whose "current residence" is in Tan Binh district and have completed primary school at primary schools in the area and are within the prescribed age.
Students have completed primary school at primary schools in Tan Binh district and are within the prescribed age.
Subject 2:
Students wishing to study in an area other than their actual residence.
Students whose "current residence" is in Tan Binh district but completed primary school at primary schools not in Tan Binh district and are within the prescribed age.

Admission timeline of Tan Binh district
Tan Binh District People's Committee stipulates the enrollment time as follows:
- From May 24 to June 10: Review and announce the admission results of Mac Dinh Chi Secondary School; organize the reception of admitted students and confirm the application results on the city's admissions page.
- From June 16 to 20: Review and announce the results of enrollment for schools organizing mass general education programs; organize the reception of admitted students and confirm the results of application submission on the city's enrollment page.
- From June 23 to 25: Announce admission results at schools, update data of admitted students on the city's admissions page.
- From June 25 to 27: The school admission councils send the list of additional quotas (if any) to the primary admission steering committee. The primary admission steering committee reviews and announces the admission results of students registered for group 2 and additional quotas.
- From June 27 to 29: Educational institutions will receive admitted students and confirm application results on the city's admissions page.
