Tennis remains a popular sport , suitable for a wide range of people across different professions and age groups, from civil servants and officials to young people, the elderly, and retirees. The development of pickleball is not intended to "defeat" tennis, but rather to create healthy competition that contributes to the development of both sports. In response to this trend, many tennis court owners are repairing and upgrading their courts, equipment, and lighting systems to meet the increasing demand for training. Many tennis clubs are improving the quality of their professional activities, inviting experienced coaches to directly train their members. Through these training courses, the skill level and performance of tennis players have significantly improved.

Mr. Tran Huy Toan, residing in Rach Gia ward, said that recently he has been practicing both pickleball and tennis. However, he still has a strong preference for tennis because of the large number of players and the diverse and beautiful shots. “Despite my busy work schedule, I still make time to practice with my friends every afternoon. I play pickleball in the morning and tennis in the evening. Thanks to this, my health has improved significantly. Besides exercising, I also socialize and exchange experiences in work and life with many people,” Mr. Toan shared.
The sustainable development of the tennis movement is also demonstrated through the effective operation of tennis clubs in the province. The system of courts and facilities is increasingly being invested in and built on a larger scale, and training equipment is being upgraded to meet professional requirements. Through social mobilization, the tennis movement has received positive support from organizations and businesses in creating healthy playing fields, attracting enthusiasts, with many tournaments organized from the club level to the provincial level.
According to Nguyen Bao Toan, Secretary General of the Provincial Tennis Federation: “The tennis movement is developing in parallel with the successful implementation of social mobilization efforts. Tournaments organized in collaboration with the Provincial Tennis Federation are increasingly improving in professional quality, featuring many exciting and captivating matches. Besides gaining experience and fulfilling their passion, athletes also have the opportunity to interact, learn, and exchange experiences.”
To promote the development of tennis, the Department of Culture and Sports, in coordination with the Provincial Tennis Federation, organizes numerous tournaments, attracting a large number of athletes from within and outside the province. Departments, agencies, and localities also include tennis in their annual sports programs and competitions, creating opportunities for tennis players to improve their health and professional skills. Through these tournaments, the general sports movement, and tennis in particular, is increasingly developing, while also helping the professional sector select high-level athletes to participate in regional tournaments.
Recently, the Department of Culture and Sports, in coordination with the Provincial Tennis Federation and Brigade 962 (Military Region 9), organized the Provincial Tennis Championship to celebrate the Party and the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026. The tournament attracted nearly 60 athletes from 16 units in the province, competing in four categories: Men's Doubles (18-39 years old); Men's Doubles (40-50 years old); Men's Doubles (51 years and older); and Mixed Doubles. According to the organizers, this year's tournament had a high level of professionalism, with players delivering many dramatic and exciting matches, featuring many beautiful shots, especially in the final.
Expressing her joy at winning the mixed doubles championship, athlete Nguyen Thi Hue Linh, residing in Tri Ton commune, shared: “When I won the top prize, I was very happy, but also quite tired because my opponents played very well.
