On September 19th, the People's Committee of Nam Tra My district (Quang Nam province) announced that it had urgently evacuated 51 households with 164 people from residential areas at high risk of landslides to safe shelters.
Earlier, from noon on September 18th, heavy rain fell in Nam Tra My district, causing river levels to rise and flow rapidly, resulting in numerous landslides.

Specifically, the evacuated households are from the communes of Tra Mai, Tra Leng, Tra Van, Tra Don, and Tra Don.
Heavy rains also caused landslides at Rang Chuoi school in Hamlet 1, Tra Tap commune; Mang Xoan-Tu Chan residential area in Hamlet 4, Tra Cang commune; and landslides on the embankment of the DH3 road in Tra Cang commune, the DH1 road from Tra Don to Tra Leng, and the road from Tra Mai to Tra Van - Tra Vinh.
The People's Committee of Nam Tra My district has directed local authorities to ensure food and essential supplies for households that have been urgently evacuated.
At the same time, the communes are required to continue monitoring the actual situation and be ready to relocate households to safe areas if they see a risk of landslides.
