According to the decision, all preschool children, primary school students, and students of educational centers across the province will be off from school starting from the morning of August 25 and will only return when weather conditions are stable.

Along with allowing students to stay home from school, the Quang Tri Department of Education and Training also requires educational institutions to proactively reinforce classrooms, especially glass doors and classroom roofs; and arrange and preserve equipment, records, and documents in safe places to minimize damage. Schools must arrange staff and teachers to be on duty 24/7 to promptly handle any arising situations.
In addition, depending on actual developments, leaders of units can flexibly adjust plans to gather students at the beginning of the school year, suspend meetings, conferences, and training sessions that are not really necessary, and focus all efforts on storm and flood prevention.
Letting students stay home from school is considered a necessary solution, both to ensure their safety and to create conditions for schools to proactively prepare and minimize damage that storm No. 5 may cause.
Previously, on August 20, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province issued a framework for the 2025-2026 school year for preschool education, general education and continuing education in Quang Tri province. Accordingly, the first day of school for all levels is August 29, while for grades 1, 9 and 12, the first day of school starts on August 22. The opening ceremony of the new school year will be held on September 5.
