On the afternoon of August 24, Ms. Le Thi Huong, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province, said that she had just sent an official dispatch to schools in the area about responding to storm No. 5.
"All students in the province will be off from school from August 25 until the weather returns to normal to ensure safety from the impact of storm No. 5," said Ms. Huong.
According to Ms. Huong, the Department of Education and Training requires schools to promptly notify parents and students about the school holiday schedule, so that students can proactively ensure safety before and during the storm.

The Department also requires educational institutions to secure classrooms and glass doors; store equipment and records in safe places; and arrange staff and teachers to be on duty 24/7 to promptly handle any arising situations.
At the same time, depending on the specific situation, heads of units can adjust the plan to gather students at the beginning of the year, temporarily suspend non-urgent meetings, conferences, and training sessions to focus on storm and flood prevention work.
"We have deployed all measures to prevent storm No. 5 to keep students and teachers safe," said Ms. Huong.
It is known that Quang Tri is in the direct impact range of storm No. 5. This locality has dozens of schools and educational facilities located in coastal areas. These areas often suffer very serious consequences when there are natural disasters and storms and floods.
