That was the information given by Mr. Nguyen Hong Tuan - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Finance - at the press conference on the economic , social, defense and security situation in the third quarter of 2025 held on October 9.
According to Mr. Tuan, in the first 9 months of 2025, especially in the third quarter, three storms No. 3, 5 and 10 made landfall in succession, causing heavy damage in Nghe An province. It is estimated that the total damage caused by natural disasters and floods since the beginning of the year to Nghe An is about 7,550 billion VND.
Recently, along with other localities, Nghe An received 500 billion VND from the Government to support people to overcome damage caused by storms and floods.
"We have coordinated with relevant departments and assigned localities to report and count damages in four groups of fields: agriculture, environment, construction, health, and education to prioritize resources for proper and effective allocation and to avoid waste.
The total damage data will be available by October 15, then the department will advise the Provincial People's Committee to allocate to localities and deploy timely support," said Mr. Tuan.

Prioritize support for people to repair houses with damaged or blown-off roofs, and provide temporary accommodation for households that lost their homes due to the storm; immediately repair schools and medical facilities with damaged or blown-off roofs to ensure students can return to school soon and ensure medical examination and treatment for people.
"The issue of resettlement construction for people in the western communes affected by landslides is still facing difficulties due to steep mountainous terrain, customs and environment. Communes must review, report, and focus on repairing areas with major damage, with criteria of no waste, targeting the right people and for the right purpose," Mr. Hien emphasized.
