At 9pm tonight, October 9, the leader of Huu Lung Commune Police said that they had received information from the people that a boat carrying people for relief had capsized on its way out. Initial information said there were 7 people on the boat, and when the boat capsized, they managed to cling to the treetops.

On the evening of October 9, on the Huu Lung news fanpage and personal Facebook pages, a number of people in this commune simultaneously posted messages calling for help because a boat carrying people for relief had capsized in the floodwaters.

The boat, carrying 7 people and food and water, entered the flood zone in the afternoon and returned at night. When it reached the area of ​​Bridge 10, it got tangled in electric wires and capsized in a split second.

The two people on top managed to cling to a tree that was sticking out of the floodwaters. The two people who drifted into the thorn bushes clung to it to avoid being swept away. The three others also clung to the surrounding trees and waited for rescue.

"I need immediate rescue. Locals reported that the boat carrying people had just capsized, and they were still clinging to a tree in the area of ​​bridge 10, Kho Muoi, facing Na Do," a Facebook page named Thu Man posted a distress message.

The leader of Huu Lung Commune Police said that according to initial information received, the capsized boat was waiting for rescuers to come out from the flood center. At night, the boat got entangled in electric wires and capsized, all 7 people fell into the flood water.

Upon receiving the news, the authorities of Huu Lung commune quickly sent boats and officers and soldiers to the area of ​​bridge 10 to rescue people.

At 9:30 p.m., according to a clip recorded by some rescuers, all 7 people on the capsized boat were promptly rescued by authorities and taken to a resident's house in the commune.
