The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 279 has a length of 8.6km, designed according to the standards of a Class III road in a flat area, with a scale of 6 lanes, a roadbed width of 33m, and a maximum speed of 80km/h. To realign the route and reduce the slope, the project required a large volume of excavation and embankment work, with many slopes exceeding 50 meters in height, posing significant challenges to construction.
The contractor is deploying concrete spraying to reinforce the embankment slope, ensuring the safety and stability of the structure. In some locations where technical conditions have been met, the contractor is proceeding with the asphalt paving of the road surface... ...while simultaneously constructing the electrical system along the route. At the overpass at the intersection of National Highway 18, the units have completed casting I-beams and super-T beams; constructing bored piles, abutments, and bridge piers, and are currently focusing on installing beams and constructing the bridge deck for the branches. The Dien Vong bridge expansion project has been completed, and the investor and contractors are determined to open the road to traffic in June, with completion and commissioning scheduled for 2026.
