On the afternoon of December 28th, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the launching ceremony of the Thai ethnic folk culture club in Hoa Phu commune, Buon Ma Thuot city (the Club).
The club was established by a decision of the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot city with nearly 30 members, all Thai people who are passionate about and love preserving traditional folk culture, and who live in Hoa Phu commune.

The club was established with the aim of preserving the folk culture of the Thai people, such as Thai dance, language, writing, costumes, and festival rituals. This creates a healthy environment and a place for activities for the Thai ethnic community in the province in general and Buon Ma Thuot city in particular.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also summarized the results of the Training Course on the Transmission of Thai Ethnic Folk Culture in Hoa Phu Commune (the Transmission Course), which began on December 15th. The Transmission Course had 17 students, all of whom are members of the Thai ethnic group residing in the commune.

After nearly half a month of studying and training, the trainees have learned to perform traditional folk songs and dances of the Thai ethnic group; they have also developed cultural and artistic programs to participate in competitions and festivals, thereby promoting the movement to build cultural life in the locality.

These activities are reportedly part of the project "Preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development," under the National Target Program for socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
