Launching the Nghe An Artificial Intelligence Community

On the morning of May 18th, in response to Vietnam's Science, Technology and Innovation Day 2026, and to promote the implementation of Government Project 06 and the development of digital government, Nghe An organized a conference to introduce the application of artificial intelligence in the public sector and launch the Nghe An Artificial Intelligence Community.

The program was attended by Mr. Thai Van Thanh – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. The conference was held at the main venue at the Innovation Center of Vinh University, the second venue at Thanh Chuong 3 High School, Cat Ngan commune, and connected online to more than 130 venues in wards and communes throughout the province.

At the conference, delegates, officials, civil servants, and youth union members were introduced to various artificial intelligence applications serving state management, administrative reform, education , healthcare, and communication.

Experts also shared insights on current AI development trends, opportunities, and challenges in the digital transformation process at the local level; and discussed solutions for effectively leveraging new technologies in the practical operations of agencies and units.

The highlight of the program was the launch of the Nghe An Artificial Intelligence Community – a forum connecting experts, technology businesses, administrators, teachers, students, and technology enthusiasts in the province. The community is expected to contribute to promoting research, application, and dissemination of AI solutions to serve socio -economic development and improve the effectiveness of digital government operations in Nghe An.

Following the launch ceremony, the Nghe An Artificial Intelligence Community Management Board will continue to refine its operating regulations, strengthen its specialized committees, and gradually bring academic activities into order. Simultaneously, the community will build an open data repository and implement AI application projects to solve practical and specific problems of the province.

The Nghe An Department of Science and Technology also requested that departments, agencies, and the People's Committees of wards and communes proactively review and propose practical needs and problems for the community and technology businesses to research and develop appropriate solutions. Simultaneously, the province will continue to promote the training of digital skills and artificial intelligence application skills for its staff, civil servants, and public employees.

The leaders of the Nghe An Department of Science and Technology expect organizations and businesses such as the National Innovation Center, Google, VNPT, and various institutes and universities to continue to cooperate, provide resources, share technology platforms and international management experience, contributing to promoting the development of the technology and innovation ecosystem in Nghe An.
