Launching touching memoir about Vietnam Air Defense Missile Force

“Our Missiles Fight Very Well” is a collection of vivid, authentic, emotional memories-memoirs-historical documents about the journey of fighting and glorious victory of the Vietnam Air Defense Missile Force.

On July 23, the Air Defense Missile Corps' Combat Liaison Committee launched a special book "Our Missiles Fight Very Well" (published by Waka Electronic Book Joint Stock Company).

The collection includes articles imbued with historical, cultural and national values, compiled to pay tribute to the generation of missile soldiers who heroically defended the Fatherland and at the same time contribute to spreading the flame of tradition to present and future generations, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Air Defense Missile Troops' Traditional Day (July 24, 1965 - July 24, 2025).

The book is divided into two main chapters, giving readers a comprehensive and emotional view.

Chapter 1: “Birth, fighting, growing up and winning” selects typical articles by officers and generals who directly fought or commanded Air Defense Missile units. The articles not only recount heroic battles but also revive the battlefield atmosphere with comradeship, team spirit, courage and creativity in combat.

Some outstanding articles: Remembering Uncle Ho's contributions to the Air Defense Missile Corps (Lieutenant General Vu Xuan Vinh), Building political mettle and psychological qualities for the Air Defense Missile Corps during the anti-American period (Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Phiet) or The battle that became a traditional day (Colonel Chu Thai)...

Chapter 2: “The Fatherland Honors” honors the heroes of the People’s Armed Forces of the Air Defense Missile Force - those who fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation. Each name recorded in this chapter is not only a memorial but also a symbol, an immortal flame of tradition passed down to present and future generations.

According to the Editorial Board, the book “Our Missiles Fight Very Well” not only recounts the glorious years of resistance with many glorious victories, but is also a place to entrust the memories and souls of a heroic army. Each page contains the sacred echoes of the fiery battlefield of the past - where the blood, sweat and tears of soldiers merged with the motherland to create immortal victories.

In the modern flow, when life is increasingly busy and hurried, the book is like a deep, quiet note, reminding today's generation of the value of sacrifice, courage and immortal national spirit. The book is a word of gratitude, a word of honor and a link between the past, present and future.

Speaking at the book launch ceremony, Colonel Truong Manh Phuong affirmed that the book inspires the young generation of Vietnam to continuously study, work, and create to build their homeland, country, and protect the Fatherland.

In particular, for the Air Defense - Air Force, the book has added motivation for officers and soldiers to study, research, and practice to firmly master new-generation equipment and weapons, determined to receive and successfully complete all assigned tasks, contributing to firmly protecting the skies of socialist Vietnam./.
