AI-generated wedding photos are taking social media by storm.
Nguyen Do Minh Anh, a student at Van Lang University in Ho Chi Minh City, said that the trend of creating wedding photos using Xingtu is currently booming on social media. "With just a few simple steps, many people have transformed their personal photos into 'studio-quality wedding photos,' creating a social media craze, especially on TikTok and Facebook," Anh said.
Vu Nhat Minh, a student at the Ho Chi Minh City College of Industry and Trade, also said: "While browsing social media, I was surprised to see many friends... becoming brides and grooms. And I tried it too. The photo of me wearing a suit like a groom became the most liked photo ever on my Facebook page."

Ha Thi Hai Thuy (27 years old), who works at My Duc Hoa One-Member Limited Company (Cho Lon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City; formerly Ward 12, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City), said: "I was also involved in creating AI wedding photos. The reason is that the application produces photos with a realistic effect, like those taken in a studio, unlike manually edited photos. The lighting, composition, and perspective are adjusted naturally…".
Huynh Anh Vinh (28 years old, residing in Dong Son commune, Quang Ngai province; formerly Binh Thanh commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province) said: "I will be holding my wedding in October 2025. The wedding photography project was a headache because it cost a lot of money. Then, my wife and I accidentally saw the 'trend' of creating wedding photos using AI and followed suit. No need to rent an expensive studio, just a few minutes on the phone to get beautiful photos."
Transforming into a groom in a white suit: AI's playful prank or a hidden danger behind the wedding attire?
Phan Cong Trong, a student at Ton Duc Thang University, said: "I like this trend because I can try being a groom myself. I can also photoshop my idol into a virtual partner, creating very beautiful, unique, and interesting wedding photos."

Many girls are using AI to "transform" into brides.

Use with caution.
Photographer Nguyen The Phong (32 years old, working at Anna studio, Ho Van Hue Street, Duc Nhuan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City; formerly Ward 9, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City) believes that the trend of virtual wedding photos using AI like Xingtu is a combination of advanced technology, personal creativity, and community entertainment.
"It shows the potential of AI in boosting creativity, transforming everyday photos into artistic images while remaining simple, quick, and cost-effective. However, to avoid making the trend overly 'illusory' or devaluing real wedding photos, users should clearly define their purpose: whether it's for entertainment or seriousness. Nevertheless, I believe AI cannot replace genuine emotions, real lighting, or capturing precious moments like real photographs. While AI-generated wedding photos are convenient, fast, cost-effective, and suitable for entertainment, real photos retain their emotional value, capturing genuine moments, making them suitable for formal wedding photography," Phong commented.
According to Master Huynh Thanh Thuan, a social media communication expert (Kent International College), the reason the trend of creating wedding photos using AI is attracting so many netizens is its strong viral potential. "The cute, entertaining images are easy to share on Facebook, TikTok, Reels, etc., creating a rapid viral effect and drawing many people to follow suit. Users can create wedding photos freely without any cost. Single people suddenly posting wedding photos, featuring the bride and groom, surprise others. Then, many people become curious, ask how to do it, and this trend spreads even more," Mr. Thuan analyzed.

Many young people are enjoying the trend of creating wedding photos using AI, however, there are warnings about data security risks.

According to IT engineer Vu Quang Tri (32 years old), who works at AIC Investment and Technology Development Consulting Company (Hanoi), one should be cautious when using AI-powered image creation applications because of potential data security risks. "For example, sending clear photos of faces to AI applications can result in distortion. Malicious actors can exploit these images, steal biometric information, especially facial data, to facilitate impersonation, unlock security, or even create pornographic content through deepfake technology (swapping other people's faces onto videos )...", Mr. Tri said.
According to Mr. Tri: "Another issue is copyright and ethics. Creating wedding photos by combining celebrities or friends without permission can cause controversy and even violate image privacy laws. In reality, many young people on social media today freely use photos of celebrities, singers, models, and actors to create wedding photos with them. This cannot be done arbitrarily. Privacy and copyright must be considered. Especially avoid using other people's photos to create fake wedding photos without permission. Do not share personal information in photos containing other people's faces without knowing the right to use them…"
