GROWING UP IN THE MILITARY ENVIRONMENT
In 2026, Regiment 924 was assigned the task by the Provincial Military Command to receive and train new recruits from localities throughout the province. The training work was closely and meticulously led and directed by the Party Committee and commanders.

To ensure the quality of training for new recruits, the Party Committee and Command of the Regiment advised and proposed to the Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command to establish a training officer framework.
The unit organizes training for officers from platoon to company level. Simultaneously, it proactively develops a system of plans, schedules, lesson plans, and lectures that are scientifically sound and relevant to practical requirements.
Training aids and materials are updated and improved, and training grounds and practice areas are standardized and unified to meet training requirements under all conditions.
Throughout nearly three months of training, the unit has thoroughly implemented the approved training plan, from lesson plan compilation to lesson plan approval, officer training, and instruction; maintaining rigorous review and practice; new recruits actively study and practice, grasping the content firmly, and their skills are constantly improving.

New recruit Pham Thanh Hai, Platoon 2, Company 1, Battalion 514, Regiment 924, shared: “In the first few days of entering the military environment, I couldn't help but feel bewildered by the collective lifestyle and daily routines in the Army.
However, thanks to the attentive care and guidance of the unit's officers, from folding and arranging bedding and drill training to political studies, morning exercises, and participation in agricultural production, I gradually adapted to the new environment.
"By now, I have become accustomed to life in the Army and will continue to strive to study and train to successfully complete all assigned tasks."
New recruit Pham Ngoc Long, Platoon 1, Company 1, Battalion 514, Regiment 924, said: “From the very first days of enlistment, my comrades and I have always received attention and encouragement from officers at all levels, from visiting our families to guiding us on lifestyle and daily activities in the unit.”
From personal hygiene to regulations and discipline within the Army, I received thorough guidance from the officers. To date, I have adapted and strictly adhered to the unit's rules and regulations.”
CULTIVATING COURAGE AND DEVELOPING MILITARY MANNER
To help new recruits gradually mature in the military environment, throughout the training process, the Party Committee and Command of the Regiment have instructed Party committees and commanders at all levels to focus on ideological guidance for new recruits.
Accordingly, officers must approach new recruits with a sense of responsibility, compassion, and respect; regularly understand the thoughts, aspirations, and circumstances of each soldier and their family in order to provide timely encouragement and support, treating each other like brothers in a family.
Through this process, new recruits gradually adapt to the military environment, acquire basic military knowledge, and develop life skills and the character of a revolutionary soldier.
With the spirit of "Overcoming the sun and rain, diligently practicing," the new recruits of Regiment 924 have made significant progress after nearly three months of training. The days spent on the training ground not only help soldiers hone their courage, willpower, and military demeanor, but also become a meaningful period of their youth as they mature and are tempered in the military environment. From then on, each soldier became more steadfast in their understanding and determined to successfully complete all assigned tasks, living up to the quality of "completing every task, overcoming every difficulty, and defeating every enemy." |
According to Senior Lieutenant Pham Thanh Phuc, Political Officer of Company 1, Battalion 514, Regiment 924, in order for new recruits to feel secure in their work, studies, and training, the unit always focuses on comprehensively caring for both the material and spiritual lives of the soldiers, especially in political and ideological education.
The Party Committee and unit commanders have implemented many diverse and creative models and activities, such as maintaining the "Three-Person Group" routine, organizing "Youth Union Day," "Soldier's Birthday," and competitions showcasing 15 prescribed songs and 5 collective dances in the Vietnam People's Army...
This creates an environment of unity and camaraderie, helping new recruits enhance their awareness of their responsibilities and duties, and feel secure and enthusiastic during their studies and training.
In addition, Regiment 924 also strictly maintains the training of infantry combat techniques for new recruits.
Through training, the soldiers were instructed to thoroughly understand the features, functions, and structure of the AK submachine gun; at the same time, they practiced proficient shooting postures and movements, how to determine the right moment, and the correct shooting techniques.
Through each training session, many soldiers showed significant progress, laying the foundation to successfully complete the final exam with the highest possible results. In addition, to ensure the health of new recruits throughout the training process, Regiment 924 paid special attention to improving the quality of meals for the troops.
The unit proactively promotes increased agricultural production, supplementing the supply of fresh food, contributing to improved meals, and helping officers and soldiers maintain sufficient physical strength to participate in high-intensity training.
After nearly three months of study and training, the new recruits have shown significant changes in both their awareness and actions, gradually developing the disciplined demeanor, courage, and willpower of a soldier.
Behind this growth lies the dedication of officers at all levels. Beyond sharing experience in management and training, the officers consistently show concern, share experiences, and support the new recruits in their daily lives.
With a sense of responsibility and camaraderie, the officers helped the new recruits quickly integrate and gradually mature in the military environment.
Evaluating the learning and training process of the new recruits, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Kim Trong, Deputy Regiment Commander and Chief of Staff of Regiment 924, said: "After nearly 3 months in the military environment, many soldiers have shown significant maturity in both awareness and conduct."
The new recruits have gradually developed a scientific work style, diligently following the "do one thing at a time" routine; they know how to support and help each other, live responsibly towards their comrades, and get along well in their relationships.
In addition, new recruits are gradually improving their ability to handle situations during training as well as in daily life."
