Ronaldo will continue his association with Al-Nassr. |
Ronaldo's contract with Al-Nassr expires on June 30th, and he is rumored to be moving to a team that will participate in the FIFA World Cup 2025 in search of his first major title since moving to Saudi Arabia.
However, according to Foot Mercato , Ronaldo has agreed to sign a new contract worth up to £167 million per year to continue his association with the club. Furthermore, CR7 has no intention of participating in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.
The former Manchester United star's move came as a surprise. Previously, European media suggested that Ronaldo wanted to leave to seek new challenges in his career. By staying, Ronaldo made a series of professional demands, including a change of head coach and a squad overhaul to make Al-Nassr more competitive next season.
Despite turning 40, the Portuguese striker maintained impressive form, scoring 25 goals in the 2024/25 Saudi Pro League season, finishing as the top scorer. After 77 appearances for Al-Nassr, Ronaldo scored 74 goals, putting him on track to reach the milestone of 1,000 career goals.
At this point, Ronaldo had 936 goals at club and national team level. However, during his two and a half years playing for Al-Nassr, CR7 did not win any official titles.
