Failed programming, should I change to another major?

VnExpressVnExpress08/02/2024

In the first semester, I failed the introductory programming course so I was very discouraged. I thought information technology was not suitable for me so I wanted to change to another major.

I am a first-year student majoring in Information Systems at the University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. When I was in high school, I only focused on Math, Physics, and Chemistry to prepare for the university entrance exam, so I had no knowledge of programming. In the first semester, I took an introductory programming course but didn't understand anything, and as a result, I failed. I was very discouraged, not knowing if information technology was suitable for me.

I am thinking about changing majors, hope everyone can give advice.
