Which industry has many candidates not approved for the title of professor or associate professor in 2025?

The State Council of Professors has just announced the list of candidates proposed by the Council of Professors of various disciplines and interdisciplinary disciplines to be considered for recognition as meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor in 2025.

Accordingly, the Council of Professors of the industry and interdisciplinary has proposed that the State Council of Professors consider recognizing the qualifications for the title of professor and associate professor in 2025 for 836 candidates, reaching 89.6% of the number proposed by the Council of Professors of the base. This list does not include candidates of the two majors of military science and security science.

Associate Professor Dr. Tran Quoc Trung (39 years old) is the second youngest professor candidate in Vietnam in 2025, currently the Deputy Director of Campus II of Foreign Trade University in Ho Chi Minh City, on the list of candidates for recognition of the title of professor in economics this year.

It is known that the Faculty Council had previously proposed 933 candidates. Thus, there are 97 candidates were not approved.

Specifically, the economics sector had 17 unsuccessful candidates, including 4 professor candidates and 13 associate professor candidates, the sector with the most candidates not approved by the Industry and Interdisciplinary Professor Council.

Next is the information technology and interdisciplinary fields of electricity - electronics - automation, earth science - mining, each council has 10 unqualified candidates.

Of the 26 majors/interdisciplinary majors, 6 majors/interdisciplinary majors achieved 100% of candidates passing the review round of the Major and Interdisciplinary Professors Council, including transportation (41), metallurgy (3), history - archaeology - ethnology/anthropology (6), psychology (12), irrigation (7) and literature (1).

In 2024, 91 out of 673 candidates were not approved, reaching a rate of 86.4% recommended by the Council of Professors of the industry and interdisciplinary sectors for consideration for recognition as professors and associate professors. This year, the rate is higher at 89.6%.

According to the plan of the State Council of Professors, from October 20-31, the State Council of Professors will meet to review and recognize the qualifications for the titles of professor and associate professor in 2025.
