Vietnam - Cambodia strive to bring bilateral trade to 20 billion USD

(HTV) - On the morning of October 11, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam - Cambodia Business Forum 2025 took place. Attending the program were Vice President of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh - President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association.

In recent years, bilateral trade between Vietnam and Cambodia has grown impressively. In 2023 and 2024, the trade turnover between the two countries reached more than 10 billion USD, and is striving to reach 20 billion USD as soon as possible according to the goals set by the two countries.

Overview of the Vietnam - Cambodia Business Forum 2025

Ho Chi Minh City always considers Cambodia an important strategic partner in the region. Vietnam's investment in Cambodia is still at the top with more than 200 projects with a total registered capital of nearly 3 billion USD. In which, there is a significant contribution from the city's enterprises, of which Cho Ray - Phnom Penh Hospital is a vivid example, demonstrating the effective cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and the capital Phnom Penh.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City said: "Ho Chi Minh City will create all favorable conditions for businesses of the two countries to connect and invest. The city is currently promoting investment in strategic infrastructure projects such as the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway, directly connecting with Phnom Penh, which is expected to open up new development space for border trade and the Mekong region. The Vietnam - Cambodia Business Forum 2025 is a golden opportunity for businesses of the two countries to find partners, share experiences and catch up with the trend of digital transformation".

With the strong commitment of the Governments and businesses of the two countries, the Vietnam - Cambodia Business Forum 2025 is expected to open a new chapter in economic cooperation, bringing bilateral relations into a more substantial, effective and sustainable development phase. The Vietnamese State has always consistently advocated creating all favorable conditions for Cambodian businesses to invest and do business effectively in Vietnam. At the same time, we hope that the Royal Government of Cambodia will continue to accompany, support and create a favorable environment for Vietnamese businesses to expand cooperation and investment in Cambodia.
