A magnificent sunset viewed from the mouth of the Da Rang River towards the Hung Vuong Bridge in Tuy Hoa City, with the Chop Chai mountain in the distance.
In the history of the formation and development of Phu Yen province, Tuy Hoa is not only known as the provincial capital, but it is also a place associated with the reclamation of land, the establishment of settlements, and the expansion of the nation's territory southward under the Nguyen Hoang lords, forming the first communities of the Phu Yen region.
Through numerous mergers, divisions, expansions of administrative boundaries, and investments in infrastructure development and socio -economic progress, Tuy Hoa, once a small, backward town located downstream of the Da Rang River, has risen to become a young, civilized, and dynamic city, undergoing significant transformations and integrating into the chain of modern coastal cities in South Central Vietnam.
The train crosses the Da Rang bridge at sunset.
Tuy Hoa City has a natural area of approximately 107.3 km² , a population of about 202,030 people, and 12 subordinate administrative units (including 9 wards and 3 communes).
In accordance with the central government's policy of reorganizing administrative units, from July 1, 2025, Tuy Hoa city will no longer exist, but will be divided into three wards: Tuy Hoa ward, Phu Yen ward, and Binh Kien ward.
