The city of Hue has just been awarded the title of “National Winner - One Planet City Challenge 2026” by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

The city of Hue has just been awarded the title of “National Winner - One Planet City Challenge 2026” by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) as part of the global One Planet City Challenge 2026, recognizing the city's outstanding efforts in responding to climate change and promoting sustainable urban development.

According to WWF's assessment, Hue City is recognized for its progressive urban development vision, clear and highly feasible climate action plan, and emission reduction strategy aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement. Furthermore, the city's climate change adaptation solutions are built on practical risk assessments, aiming to enhance the city's resilience to the impacts of natural disasters and extreme weather events.

The title "National Outstanding City" is a recognition of Hue City's efforts in building a green and smart city.

WWF also highly appreciates the participation and collaboration of agencies, organizations, businesses, and communities in the process of developing policies and solutions for green, low-emission urban development, ensuring a balance between economic growth, environmental protection, and improving the quality of life for the people.

The title of "National Outstanding City" is not only a recognition of Hue city's efforts in building a green, smart, and environmentally friendly urban area, but also affirms the locality's pioneering role in implementing sustainable development goals and global climate action.

In the coming period, the city will continue to implement sustainable urban development solutions, promote green transformation, strengthen the application of science and technology, and enhance the capacity to adapt to climate change, aiming to build Hue into a distinctive heritage city in a green, clean, bright, and sustainable manner.
