In the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), the entire island of Ly Son ( Quang Ngai province) is adorned with flags and flowers, people are cheerful, and the atmosphere is very lively. Ly Son Island, the homeland of the heroic soldiers of the Hoang Sa Fleet, seems to have donned a new coat.
Accordingly, Ly Son Island is currently decorated with vibrant flags and flowers, while the roads leading to the district center are ablaze with the red of the national flag and banners welcoming the new year… Along with that, flower and ornamental plant stalls are always crowded with customers. Potted flowers in front of houses and along the fences of people's homes are displaying their beauty, creating a spring atmosphere everywhere. Young people have flocked to these spots to take photos and create memories.
Mr. Nguyen Van Lanh, from Dong An Vinh village, Ly Son district, said: "I bought pots of chrysanthemums to decorate my house to welcome a warm Tet holiday and to pray for a prosperous and happy new year for all families."
Ms. Pham Thi Huong, Chairwoman of the Ly Son District People's Committee, said: "Ly Son District has decorated 9 miniature landscapes and 4 mushroom-shaped LED lamp posts, contributing to the radiant beauty of the homeland to welcome the Year of the Snake 2025, while also creating tourist attractions, photo spots, and serving people who come to celebrate the Lunar New Year."
According to Ms. Pham Thi Huong, the District People's Committee has sent a document requesting support from Quang Ngai province and the Command of the Coast Guard Region 2 to provide Ly Son with a ship to transport residents back to Ly Son Island for Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations, in case of unfavorable weather conditions.
