Samsung Display Unveils Custom Digital Cockpit for Self-Driving Cars

Samsung Display announced plans to launch a new digital cockpit solution for a safer and more convenient driving experience on September 8, in line with its efforts to expand its organic light-emitting diode (OLED) product portfolio, Yonhap news agency reported.

In a press release, the Korean display maker said it will participate in the IAA Mobility 2025 Exhibition, which will take place for 6 days in Munich, Germany, from September 9.

Samsung Display will showcase a range of new technologies and products, including a digital cockpit customized for autonomous vehicles, which will feature a variety of OLED displays, including a moving cluster display that acts as a dashboard but retracts when the car is parked.

According to Samsung Display, this moving OLED display not only provides essential driving information but also enhances interior aesthetics as a space-saving design solution.

The cockpit includes a 14.4-inch L-shaped display placed between the driver and passenger, taking advantage of the OLED's flexibility and curved design, allowing users to control the vehicle's temperature and other settings.

At IAA Mobility 2025, Samsung Display will also introduce its new DRIVE for automotive OLED products, an acronym that stands for differentiated design, high reliability, smart safety, excellent imaging, and scalability. This lineup reflects the company’s commitment to promoting the automotive sector as a new growth driver.

On the same day, Samsung Electronics said that the Korean technology giant's S95F OLED TV has been certified in Germany for delivering deep blacks in bright environments thanks to anti-glare technology.

Certification by the German-based Verband der Elektrotechnik Institute confirms that Samsung's TV delivers non-reflective black images, measured at less than 0.005 nits in dark environments, while still displaying clear colors in direct sunlight./.
